Speeding Kia Sonet Drags Yamaha MT15 For More Than 1 Km After Crashing Into 3 Bikes: Video

Reckless driving is what causes accidents on our roads. There are several videos on the internet that show how dangerous our roads can actually be. Here we have one such case from Tamil Nadu where a speeding Kia Sonet SUV crashed into not one but three motorcycles. Not only did the car crash, but the driver of the SUV didn’t stop and dragged a bike with him for over a kilometer.
The video has been shared by Polimer News on their Instagram page. As per the report, the accident happened on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway. According to the video, the car was moving towards Chennai. The car driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into four bikes. He hit three bikes first and then continued driving. Finally, he crashed into a Yamaha MT15 motorcycle and dragged the bike with the car for over a kilometer.
In the video, we can clearly see the Kia Sonet entering a toll booth with the MT15 stuck under the front bumper. In fact, sparks can be seen coming from the bottom of the car as the bike’s metal parts rubbed against the road.
The front of the car, as seen in the video, is damaged due to multiple crashes. It looks like the front bumper, grille, headlamps, and bonnet of the SUV are completely damaged. It also seems that the airbags on the Sonet SUV didn’t deploy, yet the car driver continued driving.
After dragging the bike for almost a kilometer, the car finally stopped and surprisingly, the driver and the occupant in the car fled the spot. By the time cops arrived, both of them had left the car behind. The bikers were injured, but all of them escaped with only minor injuries.
Cops are currently trying to trace the owner of the car. The exact reason why the Kia Sonet driver crashed into four bikes is not yet known. Driving a vehicle recklessly on public roads is extremely dangerous.
We have seen several such incidents in the past that did not end well. There is a possibility that the driver of the Kia Sonet SUV got scared after hitting the first biker, and everything else was a chain reaction.
In a bid to escape from the spot, the car driver might have made more mistakes. He might have been scared of the public and considered fleeing as a better option. But this is not the right thing to do. What everyone should understand is that accidents do happen. What makes a difference is the way you handle them.
The Kia Sonet driver should have ideally stopped after the first crash. If he was scared, he should have called the cops and informed them about the accident. If he was feeling threatened by the people around him, he should have avoided engaging with them and stayed inside the vehicle.
If the biker was injured, he should also have called an ambulance to ensure timely medical attention and avoid complications. Instead of handling the situation, fleeing from the spot only complicates things further for the driver.
