Bollywood Singer Kumar Sanu Buys A Brand New Range Rover Velar
Kumar Sanu is a legendary name in Bollywood. He has sung some of the most iconic love songs and melodies, in the bygone era. We love listening to him. Now the legendary musician has added a brand-new luxury SUV to his garage- the Range Rover Velar. Bollywood's 'Melody King' of the 90s, has chosen a unique colour for his new Velar- the Varesine Blue.
The purchase news has been let out by Navnit Motors, the Land Rover dealer in Mumbai. Their official Instagram handle shared a few pictures of Sanu taking delivery of the new SUV. These managed to turn heads quickly. Fans across the country have been congratulating him in the comment sections of these posts.
The Range Rover Velar is a favourite among celebrities and is considered one of the more accessible luxury SUVs in the Range Rover lineup. Jaguar Land Rover launched the facelifted Velar in India in July 2023, and its the same that has now found a place in the singer's garage. The facelift comes in just a single variant, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 93 lakh. Deliveries began in September 2023.
The Velar comes with two engine choices — a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel, both featuring mild-hybrid technology. It is not confirmed which variant the singer has chosen. The petrol iteration has an output of 250 bhp of power and 365 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 204 bhp and a stronger 430 Nm of torque.
Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel model offers slightly better performance, going from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.5 seconds. The petrol version takes 8.3 seconds. While the top speed of the petrol model is 210 kmph, the diesel goes up to 217 kmph. The Velar can also wade through water up to 530 mm deep.
The SUV features sharp design features. The new Pixel LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers, sleek front grille, and wrap-around tail lamps give it a striking presence. The wheels have been redesigned on the updated Velar. Five exterior colour options are available: Santorini Black, Verasine Blue, Fuji White, Zadar Grey, and Arroios Grey.
Inside, the cabin is built for comfort and luxury, with high-quality materials used. The interior design is minimalistic and modern. Two cabin colourways are available- Caraway and Deep Garnet.
The new Velar comes with an 11.4-inch curved touchscreen system, which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include wireless mobile connectivity, air purification, active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot with Navigation Pro, and steering-mounted controls.
The safety suite consists of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring, and electronic stability control.
In the Indian market, the Range Rover Velar competes with other premium SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, and BMW X5. Despite being the most affordable in the Range Rover family, it stands tall with its powerful performance and sophisticated design.
