Lamborghini supercars are quite popular among car enthusiasts in India. We have several rich celebrities and businessmen who own cars from this Italian car manufacturer. The videos have been posted by several users on social media and have gone viral since then. In this video, we see an orange-coloured Lamborghini Aventador supercar with fire coming from the rear of the vehicle. For those who are not aware, the Lamborghini Aventador’s engine is placed at the rear.

The car seen in the video belongs to social media influencer Sanjeev, who is better known as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju. It looks like the car was being driven when it suddenly caught fire.

A minor fire broke out at the rear, and the locals soon poured water and used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames. While the reports mention that the car caught fire, it appears that the car has not suffered any major damage.

It looks like only the body panels of the car caught fire. The exact reason for the fire was initially not known. This is not the first time we have come across an incident like this. In the past, we have seen images and videos where supercars have caught fire on the road.

In some cases, the fire is caused due to the heat produced by the engine. As many of these sports cars have engines at the rear, they need to be driven fast to ensure proper airflow through the engine bay to maintain optimal temperature.

Sometimes, when you rev the engine hard at a traffic signal or remain idle in a jam for too long, the exterior of the engine gets too hot and it can melt the panels and cause a fire. We have seen a few such cases in the past. Dust and debris inside the engine bay can also cause such accidents.

In this case, the owner came forward with a clarification video where he explained what actually happened. It appears there was a minor petrol leak, which caused the fire. The owner mentioned that he always carries a fire extinguisher with him, but this time it wasn’t enough. He also noted that instead of helping, people were busy recording videos. It was only an auto driver and a cabbie who came to his rescue and helped him. The car is safe and is now parked in his garage.

The Lamborghini Aventador seen in the video was once the flagship model and used to cost around Rs 9–10 crore. It is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 759 bhp and 720 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission, and power is sent to all four wheels.

Like many brands, Lamborghini has also started working on hybrid engines and has discontinued the Aventador. It has been replaced with the Revuelto, which is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with three electric motors and a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This is currently the most powerful Lamborghini on sale in the Indian market.
