We all know cars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches are all capable of driving at speeds well upwards of 200 kmph. Some can even reach up to 350+ kmph as well. However, this does not mean that such speeds should be tested on public roads. Recently, it has been reported that a man was arrested and his Lamborghini Urus worth Rs 4.5 crore was seized because he shared a video of him driving this SUV at 252 kmph on the Mumbai Worli Sea Link.

Speeding Lamborghini hits 252 kmph on Worli Sea Link

The post showing the original video in which this particular Lamborghini Urus was driving at 252 kmph has been shared on X by Motor Dave2 on their page. In this short clip, we can note that the driver was driving the Urus on the extreme left lane of the Worli Sea Link bridge in Mumbai. It started off with a speed of 180 kmph, and the driver was quickly downshifting and increasing the speed of the car.

During this, we can note that he came extremely close to the left side of the road and was passing a number of other cars that were well below these speeds. The clip then shows the driver hitting speeds upwards of 230+ kmph, and the maximum speed recorded was 252 kmph, which is three times more than the speed limit of 80 kmph on the Worli Sea Link bridge.

Consequence of this reckless act

It has been reported that soon after this video, which was originally shared on Instagram by Faiz Adenwala, the 36-year-old driver of this car was arrested by Mumbai Police. Following this, the yellow Lamborghini Urus SUV worth Rs 4.5 crore was also seized under the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). As per the authorities, the Haryana-registered Lamborghini Urus is owned by a resident from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The Lamborghini Urus seen in the video is one of the fastest and most powerful SUVs in the world. It comes equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor, which is capable of producing 641 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. This SUV can do a sprint of 0–100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds and can reach speeds upwards of 200 kmph in just 12.8 seconds. As for the top speed, it is 305 kmph

252 kmph on public roads is beyond reckless

As can be seen in the video clip, the driver of this particular Lamborghini Urus was able to reach the top speed of 252 kmph on the Worli Sea Link. Now, as mentioned above, this SUV is well beyond capable of reaching this speed. However, this does not mean that any person should be testing it on public roads. In our country, where most people drive around 70–80 kmph, driving three times above the average speed is beyond reckless.

Thankfully, in this particular video, nothing adverse happened. However, there is an extremely high chance of a vehicle driving at these speeds crashing and becoming a lethal weapon. At a speed of 252 kmph, the Lamborghini Urus is not a mere SUV, but instead a missile that can cause damage if it comes in contact with any person, vehicle, or any other object. It will destroy anything in its way, including itself. So, it is advised to perform such speed tests on private racetracks, where there is no threat to the lives of normal road users
