Reckless driving is a major cause of accidents on Indian roads. In the past, we have seen several examples of accidents that have happened due to carelessness. At times, such irresponsible behaviour leads to crashes that leave people seriously injured.

Here, we have one such video where a Land Rover Defender SUV worth crores crashed into a tile showroom in Gujarat. The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. It was shared with the vlogger by one of his followers. In the video, we see a Land Rover Defender 110 SUV with a damaged front grille, bonnet, and fender.

The exact reason for the accident or how it happened is not mentioned in the video. The luxury SUV had crashed into a tile showroom. The showroom’s partition wall, glass door, interiors, and a few tiles on display were also damaged in the crash.

If you watch the video carefully, you’ll notice that the Defender and the shop are not on any highway. The shop is located in the city. It has decent parking space in front, and the road is some distance away from it.

The speed limit on the city road seen here is not expected to be very high. However, looking at the condition of the Defender, it appears that the SUV was being driven at high speed, and the driver might have lost control and crashed into the shop. The video mentions that no one was injured in this accident. Even in the SUV, the airbags deployed on time, which saved the driver and the occupants.

Once again, the exact reason for the accident is not known, but a clip circulating online from the same spot shows locals arguing with the driver of the Defender after the crash. They claim that the driver was drunk. We are not sure if that is true, because Gujarat is a dry state and alcohol is not legally available there.

If the car driver was under the influence of alcohol, then it is a serious issue, as drunk driving is an offence not just in India but around the world. The driver was lucky to have escaped the crash without any major injuries.

We have seen people create issues on the road after getting drunk. The legal limit of alcohol content in the blood is 0.03%, or 30 mg per 100 ml of blood.

If a person driving a car has a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level of 30 mg per 100 ml of blood, he or she can be booked under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Drunk individuals often have compromised senses and slower response times to obstacles on the road.

This becomes a risk not only to themselves but also to other road users. People often become overconfident after drinking, which leads to such accidents.

In case you have a drink, leave your vehicle or hire a driver. There are several agencies now offering driver-on-demand services for such occasions. This way, you can reach home without risking your life and the lives of other innocent road users.
