Rs 3 Crore Mercedes Benz G350d Getting Painted At Local Body Shop

Generally, when we think of ultra luxury and rare cars that need paint or repair, we think that they are taken to the dealership. However, there are some people who, instead of spending a fortune on sending the vehicle to the dealership, save a lot of money by getting them painted and repaired at a local shop. Recently, a video has been shared online in which one such owner sent his Rs 3 Crore Mercedes Benz G350d to a local body shop for paint.
The video showing the after result of this Mercedes Benz G-Wagen at a local auto body shop has been shared on Instagram by Nabi Ansari on their page. In this short clip, he mentions that this particular G-Wagen came to their shop for paint work. He then highlights that the front and rear bumpers of this SUV have been painted.
In the same clip, while giving the walkaround, the owner also adds that all the running boards of this G-Wagen were also damaged, which they have repaired and painted as well. We can note that this particular G350d is finished in the classy shade of blue, and the repaint on the front and rear bumpers does not look very bad.
The Mercedes Benz G350d seen in the video is not the only high end luxury vehicle that this particular local body shop has worked on. On the same page, there is a video of a black colored Bentley Continental GT Convertible as well. The owner highlights that they have to paint the front bumper and grille surrounds, which have been damaged by rock chips.
Additionally, the same shop owner has shared a video of the green colored Porsche 718 Spyder with an aftermarket GT4RS body kit. This particular sportscar’s front bumper was taken off, suggesting that some work has been done on the front end of this vehicle. Towards the end, the video shows the completed Porsche 718 Spyder with the GT4RS body kit.
In addition to these videos, a little while ago a few images of an Audi R8 also went viral on the internet. In these images, a blue colored Audi R8 was seen outside a local body shop with newspapers on it to cover the different parts of this supercar. It appeared that the paint was scuffed and getting prepared for a new paint job.
A lot of people who have seen these above examples might have the question in their mind asking why some luxury cars and supercar owners send their vehicles to local paint shops. Well, the answer to this is most likely due to the extremely high repair and repaint costs quoted by dealerships.
Generally, high end car dealerships quote the price of some panel paints as high as a complete body paint job in a local shop. Now, luxury car owners who are ultra wealthy do not care about this price tag. However, there are a number of owners who buy these cars used from the second hand market and cannot afford the extremely high repair costs, so they opt for such local shops.
