The Mahindra BE 6 is one of the most unique-looking electric SUVs in the market currently. Over the last few months, a lot of people have bought this SUV and are now sharing their detailed ownership reviews. Recently, one such owner shared his experience of owning his BE 6 and driving it for over 7,000 km. He highlighted that the BE 6 replaced his Mahindra Thar three-door, which he had driven for 19,000 km in just 7 months.

The video of the long-term ownership review of the Mahindra BE 6 was shared on YouTube by Girish Khanna on his channel. It starts off with the host introducing the owner of this particular Mahindra BE 6. He then begins asking him a number of questions regarding his decision to buy this EV SUV, his thoughts on other EVs, and his overall ownership experience so far.

First off, the host asked the owner about his decision to buy the BE 6. To this, he replied that he used to own a Mahindra Thar three-door 4X2 with a petrol engine. He drove it for over 19,000 km in just 7 months. The owner then added that his father suggested he take a test drive of the BE 6, but he was not inclined to do so as he did not like EVs much at the time.

Following this, he went to take the test drive on February 13, and on February 14 he booked one for himself to replace the Thar. He added that because of the BE 6, he is saving around Rs 30,000–40,000 every month on fuel expenditure while having a lot of fun driving this SUV. He also mentioned that the BE 6 is a lot more practical than the Thar three-door, as people can use the back seats easily.

Why not Tata Harrier.ev?

The host then asked the owner about his thoughts on the Tata Harrier.ev and why he did not wait to buy it. To this, he replied that, according to him, the Harrier.ev does not look very different from the standard Harrier. Also, the range claimed by the company for that SUV will not be accurate. He added that the BE 6, with a bigger battery and lower weight, is offering him 550 km of range. However, the Harrier.ev, according to him, will not even offer 450 km.

Current range offered by BE 6

While talking about the range of the Mahindra BE 6, the owner mentioned that he has been consistently getting a range of 500–510 km on a single full charge. He added that the trick to driving the BE 6 for more range is to not drive it aggressively. When driven with a heavy foot, the range drops to around 400 km. He also stated that he recently took it to a mountain, and it offered around 450 km of range.

Issues faced

The owner in the video highlighted that so far he has not faced many issues with the BE 6. He added that there have been zero issues with the software and the range of this vehicle. The only issues he has faced are minor, such as the ambient lighting on the glass roof having a white end, a suspension light, and a few other small things. The rest of the vehicle has been amazing to own, and he is not planning to replace it anytime soon.
