Mahindra BE6 Owner Tests Driving Range In Real World Conditions: Did The EV Manage 500 Kms? [Video]

Mahindra BE6 and XUV 9E deliveries have commenced, and we have also started seeing videos where EV owners are seen sharing their experiences with the all-new EVs in town. Both the XUV 9E and BE6 look unique on the road, which is one of the reasons they became so popular in such a short span of time.
The range of these EVs is what many owners are discussing online, and here we have one such video where a Mahindra BE6 owner is seen doing a road trip in his BE6 to test the real-world driving range of the EV.
The video has been shared by Slightly Madness on their YouTube channel. The owner of the BE6 seen in the video is from Bengaluru, and he is traveling from Bengaluru to Mysuru to visit a couple of temples with his mother. The BE6 seen here looks like a brand-new EV with just over 1,000 km on the odometer.
The owner mentions that he fully charged the vehicle before starting the journey. He resets the trip meter and starts his road trip with his mother. He drove on city roads for almost 15 km before joining the highway.
From there, he took his first stop at a temple after covering 72.3 km. The electric SUV had 83 percent charge left, and the owner was switching between driving modes as per the road conditions. He started in the default mode and later switched to Race mode on the highway. The performance and range of the vehicle differ depending on the selected mode.
They reached their second destination by evening, and by then, the car had covered over 160 km. After driving the car for almost 10 hours, the owner, along with his family, reached home with 11 percent charge left.
The car had covered 401 km by the time he reached home. The next day, the owner even took the car to his office with the same 10–11 percent charge remaining in the battery. Even with 10 percent charge, the car was showing a 54 km range. However, due to rain and a heavy traffic jam, the battery percentage started dropping suddenly while he was on his way to the office.
The owner panicked and turned off the AC and the infotainment screen. He reached the office with 4 percent battery left. In short, the car could easily deliver around 445 km, which is decent for an electric SUV of this size. The BE6 offers a certified driving range of up to 682 km with the larger 79 kWh battery and 557 km with the smaller 59 kWh battery.
The owner also talks about the things he liked and didn’t like in his BE6. He really appreciated the sound design done by Mahindra. He is also a big fan of the ADAS features and the HUD. However, he didn’t like the fact that the infotainment system doesn’t offer the option to uninstall apps that the owner doesn’t need, and it doesn’t have Spotify integrated into the system. Apart from these things, the owner really likes the BE6 EV.
