India’s Coolest Mahindra Scorpio-N: Modifications Explained

Few weeks ago, we came across a small video of a Mahindra Scorpio N that has been beautifully modified for off-road expeditions. We had done a story about the SUV. As it was a short video we did not get a clear view of all the modifications in the SUV. After the video went viral, we now have a post that shares the official list of modifications done on this Mahindra Scorpio N. The modification has been done by Performance Vehicles, Noida Uttar Pradesh.
The images have been posted on Performance Vehicles On their Facebook page. While we covered most of the modifications in the other video, we’ll speak about the modifications in a detail and more specific manner. The first thing you would notice on this SUV from the front is that it is missing the stock bumper. The Scorpio N gets a custom built metal bumper which is extremely useful while off-roading.
The stock LED DRLs on the bumper along with the fog lamps are also missing from the SUV now. As part of the modification both front and rear get these off-road spec custom built bumpers. The SUV also gets a 12,000 lbs winch from Bushranger. The SUV also gets a bash plate made from aluminium.
The front bumper also gets integrated LED auxiliary lamps. Coming to the side profile, you notice a snorkel finished in body colour and we also see bush cutters or limb risers. There are several utility boxes installed on this SUV along with metal roof rack, awning and storage container.
Mahindra Scorpio N seen here also gets the stock side step removed. This has been done to increase the ground clearance and also to make space for aftermarket rock sliders. The fuel tank on this SUV is also protected using a Composite sandwich fuel tank guard. The SUV looks wider than before thanks to custom fender flares.
The SUV gets aftermarket wheels. These are off-set rims with hub spacers in place. The SUV also uses off-road spec tyres. As we move to the rear, we see the new set up for the spare wheel. It is now mounted on a custom swing out spare wheel carrier. Other than these mods, the SUV also gets jerry cans for extra fuel along with side mounts. It also gets a rear tow hitch to pull or get pulled out from a tricky situation.
The model seen here is the top-end Z8 L 4×4 variant. We are not sure if this is the manual or the automatic version. This variant of the Scorpio N includes features like dual-tone leatherette upholstery, an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a Sony speaker system, a digital instrument cluster, and more.
Mahindra Scorpio N is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version uses a 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged engine.
The SUV seen here is diesel and it uses a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged engine that generates 172 Bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The price for a brand-new Mahindra Scorpio N starts at Rs 13.85 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 24.54 lakh, ex-showroom. Only the higher diesel engine options offer the 4×4 feature.
