The limousine culture never flourished in India. However, we have seen many transforming their vehicles into stretched-out limousines here. From Maruti 800s to Volkswagen Jetta, there have been a lot of limo conversions. Now take a look at this: someone built a G-wagon limousine. The Mercedes G Class, more commonly known as the G-wagen itself, is an iconic vehicle which a lot of people aspire to own someday. A limo version of it would obviously attract even more attention. This vehicle is, in fact, a Mahindra Scorpio on steroids...

Watch on YouTube

A video shared on the YouTube channel Jaipur Jeep Lovers, shows this custom-made limousine in detail. It starts by showing the exterior view of the vehicle. The host gives his viewers a quick brief of the vehicle. He says that it is a kit car. The bodywork has been designed in-house by his garage. The donor car here seems to be a 2012 Mahindra Scorpio.

The front fascia has been completely reworked. It gets G-Wagen-like hood, grille, circular headlights and even indicator lamps that sit on the bonnet. The garage that built this vehicle even gave it LEDs inside the grille. The front now gets metal bumpers which imitate the design of the ones found on the original G.

We then get to see the side view. The vehicle gets prominent side skirts. The video doesn't mention the exact length of this build. But it is very long for sure. There are massive glass panels to improve the cabin experience. The changes at the rear are minimal. The garage has taken care to give it a G-wagen-like spare wheel cover and bumper-mounted tail lamps.

Later in the video, we see the interior of this Limousine. There is generous room inside. This vehicle is in fact, an event prop. The clip also shows it being used in some procession/ event, completely decorated with Rose flowers.

You can hire this limo for birthday parties or weddings, should you wish to. The contact numbers displayed on-screen can be used to make reservations. The host further says that people from any part of the country can hire this vehicle, but doesn't mention the costs for the same.

You can even host parties inside this limousine. The cabin has a neatly laid-out lounge area with classy White and Black leather upholstery, multiple air conditioning (AC) vents, ambient and party lights, audio system and a television. Almost everything inside is custom-made.

Due to its sheer size, driving this G-limo replica will not be easy. In the video, we can see that it almost feels like a bus on the road. The host says that this vehicle will soon get genuine Mercedes wheels. Currently, it rides on Golden-painted alloy wheels, which don't go well with the rest of the design.

As mentioned already, the donor vehicle here is a 2012 Scorpio. The limo conversion reportedly took place in 2012. Back then it was converted into a Scorpio limousine. The owner reportedly spent around 40 lakh rupees for this. It was much later that the vehicle was fitted with the G-wagen kit. This made-in-India kit and its installation had a combined cost of 3.5 lakh rupees.

Is This Conversion Legal?

Obviously not! In India, even cosmetic modifications are considered illegal. The RTO officials across the country are quite active with enforcements. Limousine conversions require major changes to the vehicle's platform and key structural elements. These can in no way, be permissible. In the past, we have seen many limos getting confiscated by the officials for the very same reason.
