Mahindra Releases Fresh Teaser Videos For BE 6e And XUV 9e Electric SUVs Ahead of Launch

A few weeks ago, Mahindra officially announced that they would be launching their all-new electric vehicles in the Indian market on November 26 this year. Mahindra has been teasing us with spy pictures and teaser images of the upcoming EVs for quite some time. Recently, Mahindra released a new teaser video that gives us a glimpse of the upcoming BE 6e and XEV 9e electric SUVs.
The video was shared by Pratap Bose on his X profile. The newly released teaser video shows both the XEV 9e and the BE 6e electric SUV. We start by seeing the exterior silhouette of the EVs, then get a look at the cabin of both vehicles. The BE 6e electric SUV comes with two digital displays, while the XEV 9e features a triple-screen setup.
This design was seen in the concept, but there was some skepticism about whether Mahindra would introduce three displays on the dashboard. It turns out they will. One of the 10.25-inch displays will serve as the instrument cluster, while the other two will be used to control the infotainment system and other features of the car.
The cabin of both EVs looks premium, and the cars are definitely offering several luxury features. We see a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE and Mahindra logo on both SUVs, leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats, and more. Both SUVs also have a large glass roof. We see the Born Electric and Mahindra logos on the roof of these SUVs, although it’s uncertain if these will appear on the production versions.
The XEV 9e was the first electric concept showcased by Mahindra. It may look like the electric version of the XUV700 but, thats not how it is. It is an all-new SUV based on a new platform with several factors differentiating it from the current flagship. Initially, it was called the XUV.e9, but the name was changed to XEV 9e as it entered production. Mahindra plans to maintain two electric vehicle lineups—one that will launch electric versions of existing models, which will carry a revised version of Mahindra’s logo.
The other lineup is the Born Electric (BE) SUVs, built from scratch. The XEV 9e is based on the INGLO platform. It will feature drop-down LED DRLs with a connecting LED bar running across the width of the vehicle, forming a large C-shaped element at the front. The SUV also includes aerodynamic alloy wheels with low-resistance tires and an all-LED tail lamp with a similar design to the front. Unlike the XUV700, the XEV 9e has a slightly coupe-like design at the rear, adding a sporty look.
The SUV is expected to be offered with both single- and dual-motor setups. We’ll learn more about the battery, performance, and range of this EV in the coming weeks.
The next electric vehicle set to launch on November 26 is the BE 6e, which falls under Mahindra’s Born Electric category. The electric SUV has been showcased as a concept several times, and it seems Mahindra has kept the production version very close to the BE.05 concept.
The emphasis on LED DRLs is quite evident on this EV as well. Almost every manufacturer in the market currently offers a similar LED design with a connecting LED bar. The C-shaped DRL elements run around the headlamps, which are positioned on the bumper. The design looks sharp, and in terms of size, the BE 6e appears smaller than the XEV 9e.
It is expected to be one of the sharpest-looking EVs in the market upon its launch. The BE 6e is also based on the INGLO platform, and it’s expected to come with 60 kWh and 79 kWh battery options. This EV will compete against Maruti’s upcoming e-Vitara, and it’s anticipated to be priced aggressively.
