Mahindra Thar Driver Arrested After Illegally Entering Railway Tracks

It seems like almost every day a new reckless incident involving a Mahindra Thar is reported in India. This time around, it has been reported that a black Mahindra Thar three-door driver illegally entered the railway tracks near Dimapur railway station in Nagaland. This particular incident took place on December 17 around 11:35 PM. Thanks to quick action by the authorities, the vehicle was safely removed from the tracks, and the driver was arrested.
According to the reports, a black Mahindra Thar entered the railway tracks near Dimapur railway station from the MXN side. It then started driving towards the main station. However, during this drive, it got stuck on line no. 1 near the old flyover area and Burma Camp side, which is closer to the Dimapur station. This particular incident took place in an active railway zone, which made it even more dangerous.
Soon after it was reported that this particular Thar had entered the railway tracks, Dimapur police immediately came into action and rushed to the spot where the Thar was present. It then started coordination with railway authorities and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), following which the Thar was quickly intercepted and removed from the railway tracks.
It was then confirmed by the authorities that no passengers at the railway station and no railway assets were harmed during this dangerous excursion. Additionally, the railway authorities also highlighted that there was no disruption to train service.
This particular black-colored Mahindra Thar three-door was being driven by a 65-year-old man named Thepfuneituo. He is a resident of Signal Angami, Dimapur district, Nagaland. Soon after the police intercepted the vehicle, the driver was stopped, arrested, and taken into custody for alleged gross negligence. Additionally, the Mahindra Thar was also seized by the authorities, and a formal case has been registered by the Railway Protection Force.

As for the FIR details, the case number is 346/2025, and it was filed on December 17th, 2025. The sections invoked in this case are Section 153 of the Railways Act, which criminalizes acts or omissions that endanger railway passengers or obstruct rolling stock, making offenders liable for up to five years in prison and/or a fine.
Also, Section 147 of the Railways Act has been invoked. This act deals with trespassing on railway property, making it an offense to enter without permission, misuse property, or refuse to leave, punishable by imprisonment up to six months, a fine up to Rs 1,000, or both. At the moment, the authorities are also investigating how exactly the driver entered the railway tracks and whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

This is not the first time that we have seen a car in a railway station. Just a few months ago, a white-colored Toyota Glanza driver was seen driving his car on a railway station platform. This particular incident took place in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where a man under the influence of alcohol drove a car onto the platform of the railway station in search of his wife.
