Mahindra Thar Driver Rams Man Deliberately After Instagram Dispute! (Video)
Saying it loud could offend and upset many, but Mahindra Thar owners have lately been setting a terrible reputation for themselves. Several cases of road rage and reckless driving recently had Thar owners involved! The newest in the line, is from Noida’s Sector 53, where an angry Thar driver tried to run over a guy and kill him!
A chilling video of the incident has surfaced online. It shows sheer hooliganism and gory. We see an injured young man walking towards the camera, wearing Black shirt and jeans. His shirt seems to have lost its buttons in what looks like a fight, and there is blood running down neck as well. He walks through the left side, trying to distance himself away from the road.
Soon, we see the camera guy moving swiftly to safety. In the next few seconds, we see a Black Thar drive rashly towards the guy, and hit him hard, from behind. The impact flings him into a drain nearby. He seems to have suffered severe injuries in the incident. The Thar driver, reportedly fled the scene soon after the incident. All these happened in broad daylight. The video stirred massive online outrage in no time.
Local police soon formed a team to identify and book the Thar driver. By the time of writing this story, the cops have managed to arrest the offender and have gathered more information about the incident from him. The driver has been charged with rash and negligent driving and causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
So, What Is The Back Story?
Reports by various news outlets say that the Thar driver and the victim (later identified as Saurabh) knew each other and were involved in a heated argument and fight before the incident. The hit-and-run seems to have stemmed from these. The two allegedly started fighting with each other in Instagram comments section, and the same soon escalated into an in-person brawl.
"There was a dispute between the two parties under the police station Sector-24 area to comment on the social media platform. Both sides are familiar with each other," Sumit Kumar Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, reportedly told NDTV.
According to various news reports, Saurabh and his brother Sumit are both property dealers and live in Sector-49. The victim reportedly told the police that the two of them were on their way to the Logix Mall via Kanchan Janga Bazaar.
They were stopped near the Bijli Ghar (power house) by people who were later identified as Akash Awana, Aman Awana, Gaurav Chauhan, and Kunal Chauhan. They allegedly assaulted them. A video of them hitting them with a brick has also surfaced online. Shortly after this, the Thar driver rammed his SUV into Saurabh.
What began as an offensive exchange of Instagram comments turned out to be a near-death experience for this individual. The incident has raised fresh worries about the city's rising street violence and incidents of road rage.
It has also sparked discussions among netizens about the Thar's bad reputation. It is clear from the comments that a lot of people believe in the theory of Thar drivers acting like thugs on the road. Can't blame them considering the several such cases that have surfaced recently. 'Time and again, Thar shows why it’s called the poor man’s bulldozer'- wrote a user on X (previously Twitter). "Thar Phobia might become a thing!" commented another while a third added a sarcastic comment saying "Thar driver. Enough said".
