Mahindra Thar Driver Pulls Fallen Tree: Clears Blocked Road [Video]

We have come across several videos on the internet where Mahindra Thar drivers are seen causing chaos on the road. Many of them drive recklessly, perform stunts, and cause accidents. Because of such incidents, the Mahindra Thar has gained a bad reputation. However, there are owners who actually put their Mahindra Thar SUVs to good use. Here, we have one such video where a Mahindra Thar owner used his 4x4 SUV to clear a road that was blocked by a fallen tree.

The video has been shared by Prudent Media Goa on their Instagram page. In this video, we see several vehicles caught in a traffic jam after a tree fell on the road. The video mentions that this happened on the Thane–Valpoi road. It looks like a huge tree had fallen onto the road because of heavy rains in the region.

The tree and its branches fell on the road and blocked the traffic. The fire and rescue team reached the spot and were trying to clear the road, but it was taking time. Local resident Faiz Shaikh was also present at the spot, and he started helping the authorities.

He used his Mahindra 4x4 SUV to pull the tree branches and move them out of the way. As this was a huge tree, moving it at once without a crane was almost impossible. So, the authorities started cutting the branches, and the Mahindra Thar moved these branches using a tow strap to the side of the road.

As the road was wet, we can see the Mahindra Thar struggling for grip on the tarmac. In fact, the Thar was using aftermarket alloy wheels. It was moving heavy branches, and that is probably the reason why it was losing traction on the wet surface.

The Mahindra Thar driver moved the branches out of the way one after another and finally cleared the road enough for vehicles to move through one side. The trunk of the fallen tree was still on the road, and it was too heavy for the Mahindra Thar to move.

The Mahindra Thar is a capable SUV, and the video is an example that proves the same. The Mahindra Thar 4x4 is a great off-roader, and the driver or owner of the car did a good thing by helping the authorities clear the road and restore the flow of traffic.

If they had waited for a crane, it might have made things worse, as the traffic congestion would have increased. As Faiz, with his SUV, helped restore the traffic flow, the authorities could then bring in the big crane to lift the trunk of the tree and completely move it away from the road.

The Mahindra Thar 3-door is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both petrol and diesel variants are available with 4x4 options. These engines come with manual and automatic transmission choices. The 4x4 versions use a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, while the 4x2 variants use a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine.
