Mahindra Thar Roxx Vs Force Gurkha Five-Door In An Off-Road Showdown [Video]
Ever since the Mahindra Thar Roxx deliveries commenced, people have been asking to see an off-road comparison with its direct rival, the Force Gurkha five-door. Recently, a YouTuber managed to bring both of these rivals head to head, and a video of this has been shared online. As a bonus, the same obstacles in which these two SUVs were being compared were also attempted by a Maruti Suzuki Jimny as well.
Mahindra Thar Roxx vs Force Gurkha Five-Door Off-Roading
This video comparing the Mahindra Thar Roxx and Force Gurkha five-door SUVs’ off-roading capabilities has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Small Town Rider on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the video. He states that today he and his friends will be testing the capabilities of all three dedicated lifestyle off-roaders.
Following this, the vlogger and his friends reach the off-roading location, where after some time they find a suitable obstacle. He mentions that in this obstacle, they will first take their SUVs down in 4X2 mode and then engage 4X4 to come up. After this, the vlogger first attempts the obstacle with his Jimny.
He can be seen easily going down; however, when it came to climbing back, he first tries it in 4X2 mode. It was noted that the Jimny could not come up this obstacle in 4X2 mode, so the driver engages the 4X4 mode, and it performs flawlessly. Following this, the Thar Roxx starts going down this obstacle.
Five-Door SUV Off-Roading Showdown
The vlogger guides the driver to go very slowly so that the bumper does not scrape off. After this, the Thar Roxx can be seen going down very easily without touching either bumper or the side steps. Following this, the driver then turns the vehicle and attempts to go up the obstacle.
It can be noted that he does it without any issue and also without even engaging the 4X2 mode. Next up, the Force Gurkha also goes down the same obstacle, and it, too, performs flawlessly without any scraping. Just like the Thar Roxx, it also manages to cross the obstacle without engaging 4X4.
Performance on Difficult Obstacle
After this first obstacle, the vlogger mentions that they will be attempting a second, slightly tougher obstacle. He highlights that this obstacle is steeper than before. Following this, he then drives down in his Jimny and again comes up the same obstacle with the 4X4 engaged.
The Jimny can be seen overcoming this obstacle with ease. Next up was the Thar Roxx, which then starts going down, and this time around, due to the steepness, the front bumper of this SUV scrapes. The same happens with the side step of the Roxx as well.
Now, as for climbing back, the driver first tries to climb with 4X4 low without locking the differentials. However, it could not climb, so he then locks the differential, and the Thar Roxx overcomes the obstacle. After this, it was the Force Gurkha’s turn.
The video shows that neither the bumper nor the side step gets scraped while going down. Following this, the driver tries to climb without engaging the differential lockers. However, like the Roxx, the Gurkha also fails to climb on the first attempt. Finally, with the lockers engaged, the Gurkha also crosses the obstacle with ease.
