We have seen a lot of modifications and builds based on the Mahindra Thar ROXX, since the SUV's market debut in August 2024. A new product has now surfaced in the ROXX's aftermarket- side-facing seats! The ROXX is a five-seater with ample boot space. If you have ever thought of making it a seven-seater, this accessory could be of use.

In a video shared on Instagram, we get to see these seats installed on a Thar ROXX- apparently the first of its kind in India. These sit inside the boot and are mounted in a side-facing fashion. Though these eat into the usable boot space, two adults can be seated comfortably. These are claimed to come with OEM-quality bolt-on fitment. Three colourways are offered- White, Red and Brown.

We have seen many Mahindra SUVs with similar seating arrangements. The Bolero NEO, for example, has a 5+2 layout with side-facing rear seats. If interested, you can order the product by reaching out to the seller on 7011236987.

More About The Thar ROXX

At the time of writing this article, the Thar ROXX has its price in the range of 12.99 - 23.39 lakh, ex-showroom. Four broad trims are available- MX1, MX3, MX5, and AX7 L.

Mahindra has based it on an all-new platform which they call the 'M_GLYDE'. This chassis has been engineered with a strong focus on agility and occupant comfort.

Mahindra offers both petrol and diesel engine options on the Thar ROXX. The petrol variants come with a 2.0L turbocharged 'mStallion' petrol engine that produces 177PS and 380 Nm on the top variants. The diesel engine is the 2.2L turbocharged mHawk which generates up to 172.5 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmissions are on offer, on both engines.

Talking of fuel efficiency, the petrol-manual combination has been certified to deliver up to 12.40 km/l. The diesel engine, in its lower state of tune (152 bhp /330 Nm), would deliver 15.20km/l.

On the design front, the ROXX gets the familiar 'Thar' silhouette, LED headlamps, '6-pack' grille, LED tail lamps, bold bumpers at the front and rear, a unique C-pillar which has gathered much hate since launch and 19-inch wheels with a five dual-spoke design (18-inchers on lower variants).

Mahindra has paid great attention to detail in designing the cabin. The ROXX measures 4428 mm in length, 1870 mm in width, and 1923 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2850 mm. It thus has generous room inside.

The carmaker has done every bit possible to enhance occupant comfort. The higher variants of the ROXX come with a huge panoramic sunroof which contributes a lot to making the cabin feel pleasant and airy. Lower trims get a single-pane sunroof. The vehicle also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio setup. An update in May this year brought the Dolby Atmos tech to the SUV as well.

The SUV also comes with features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, wireless charger, electronic parking brake, powered driver seat, selectable drive modes, climate control, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and more.

Another update early this year also added keyless entry, a sliding function for the front passenger-side armrest and wipers which are more aerodynamic than before.
