Mahindra Thar Roxx vs Force Gurkha 5-Door: Detailed Comparison Video

Mahindra Thar Roxx deliveries have begun, and we’re starting to see various content with the SUV online. Many owners have already begun modifying the Thar Roxx with wider and larger wheels. One of the SUVs that directly rivals the Thar Roxx in this segment is the Force Gurkha 5-door. Months before the launch of the Roxx, Force Motors introduced the Force Gurkha 5-door. In this video, we see a comparison of the Mahindra Thar Roxx’s exterior and interior space with the Force Gurkha 5-door.

The video was shared by Small Town Rider on his YouTube channel. In it, the vlogger compares the exterior, interior, and price of both SUVs. He starts by mentioning that both the Mahindra Thar Roxx and Force Gurkha are similar in size and nearly equal in cost. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny, on the other hand, is less expensive and smaller, which is why it’s not included in this comparison.

The vlogger begins with the exteriors of the SUVs. The Mahindra Thar Roxx features a bulkier front end with a new grille, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a revised bumper, and more. The Force Gurkha, on the other hand, retains a design similar to its 3-door version. There isn’t much differentiation between the 3-door and 5-door versions of the Gurkha from the front.

Both SUVs come with dual-tone alloy wheels, and Force has adjusted the SUV’s suspension setup to improve both off-road and on-road handling. The vlogger then discusses the accessories that come with the Gurkha. It includes a metal windshield guard, a roof rail, and a factory-fitted snorkel. Mahindra does not offer any of these accessories with the Roxx. Additionally, the Gurkha has a metal front skid plate, while Mahindra provides a plastic skid plate on the Roxx.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx interior looks quite premium, featuring white upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, and an electric sunroof, among other amenities. The Force Gurkha, however, has a more basic cabin with black interiors. Its seats have fabric covers, a dedicated armrest for both the driver and co-driver, a rotary dial for the 4×4 system, a manual gearbox, and a simple steering wheel with the Force logo.

The Gurkha includes a touchscreen infotainment system with a basic speaker setup. Compared to the Thar Roxx, the Gurkha appears slightly more spacious in the video. It’s a 7-seater SUV, whereas the Thar Roxx seats only 5. Access to the third-row seats in the Gurkha is via the tailgate.

The Thar Roxx offers more boot space, while the Gurkha 5-door includes roof storage. The Gurkha has a 2.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 138 BHP and 320 Nm of peak torque.

The Roxx, meanwhile, uses a 2.2-liter turbocharged engine available in two power levels: the lower versions generate 150 BHP, while higher versions reach up to 172 BHP. The MX5 4×4 variant featured in the video costs around Rs. 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Gurkha 5-door is priced at Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

While the Thar Roxx is available in multiple variants, the Gurkha offers only one. If you’re looking for a premium SUV that’s capable off-road, the Thar Roxx is a strong choice. However, if your main priority is off-roading, the Gurkha is the better option.
