Mahindra Thar Tries To Cross River: Gets Royally Stuck [Video]
The Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader is indeed a very capable off-road vehicle. However, like every machine, it also has a limit, and past that limit, it can stop performing. Recently, this simple lesson was learned by a Thar owner and his friends after getting stuck in the middle of a river. A video from Jamshedpur shows how a Mahindra Thar driver drives the SUV into the river and gets stuck after it stalls.
Mahindra Thar Gets Stuck in the River
This video of a Mahindra Thar getting royally stuck in a river has been shared on X by Prateek Singh. As per the post, this incident took place at the Hurlung River in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The driver and his three friends were attending the Durga idol immersion ceremony at the river before getting stuck in the water.
The video clip starts by showing the Thar driving towards the river after crossing a few patches of water. Following this, the driver drives the SUV into the river and keeps on going. However, at one point, the vehicle can be seen getting stuck at a deeper point, which eventually stalls the vehicle.
As a result, the Thar starts drifting in the river, and it can be noted that the driver was not able to drive it. Following this, the video shows that the SUV was stuck exactly in the middle of the river and was tilted towards the driver’s side. After a while of people recording, the passenger window of this SUV was finally rolled down.
Were These People Rescued?
Before talking about their rescue, it has been mentioned in the post that this particular Thar driver, along with his friends, had already crossed the river twice successfully. However, this situation occurred during the driver’s third attempt to cross the river.
Now, coming to the rescue of this Thar and its occupants, the post highlighted that none of the four passengers were willing to be rescued without the vehicle. Thankfully, after a while, three of the passengers were rescued, but the fourth passenger did not leave until the very last moment.
Never Overestimate Capabilities of Your Vehicle
As mentioned, we are all aware that the Mahindra Thar is a very capable off-roader. However, even though the vehicle has been designed to perform such off-roading, it is advisable to never test the limits of the vehicle. This is because one lapse of judgment can cause the vehicle to get stuck in a situation where it becomes very hard to rescue.
If you are embarking on an off-road adventure, make sure that there are a few other people in the group with more vehicles. This is because during an off-roading adventure, one or multiple cars can get stuck, and there should always be another vehicle to retrieve the stuck vehicles.
Not the First Incident
The above scene of a Thar getting stuck in the river is not the first time this has happened. A while ago, we shared another video where an overconfident Thar driver drove his SUV into a river. In this particular instance as well, the vehicle got stuck in the middle of the river.
Thankfully, there was another modified Thar with a proper winch, which managed to bring it out of the water. For this rescue, a person had to swim to the Thar that was stuck and attach a rope to the bumper of this vehicle. The entire struggle of this Thar’s rescue mission was shared online.
