Public roads are not meant for performing stunts, and this is a statement we have been highlighting in our stories for a very long time. However, people still seem to ignore this and continue to perform such acts, eventually landing themselves in trouble. Recently, the Haryana DGP even made a controversial statement against Thar and Bullet owners. We have now come across a video where a woman driving a Mahindra Thar attempts a stunt that goes terribly wrong. She ends up crashing the vehicle into bushes and is left with a fractured thumb.

The video has been shared by Yamini Chaudhary on her Instagram page. In the footage, we see the woman standing halfway out of the driver’s seat with the doors open. She has one hand on the steering wheel while the other is on the door.

It is quite clear from the video that she was not confident in that position, as she struggled to find proper balance. She even mentions in the video that she was attempting a stunt - although what exactly she was trying to do remains unclear.

Since she was standing on the driver’s side, it appears she intended to move the vehicle forward or drive in circles while hanging out of the door. It looks like the car was in gear, and she accidentally pressed the accelerator harder than intended. The SUV picked up speed almost instantly, causing her to lose balance.

The steering automatically returned to the center, the door began to close, and everything happened too quickly for her to react. The SUV went out of control, and instead of moving in circles or straight as she expected, the Mahindra Thar shot straight into the bushes.

From the video, it appears the vehicle was already off the main road - possibly near a field or a slope - making it even harder for her to regain control. We do not get to see the condition of the Thar after the crash, so it is unclear whether it hit any trees or obstacles before coming to a stop.

The woman ends the video by saying that the Mahindra Thar is extremely sturdy, and that is probably why she managed to survive the crash with minor injuries. The video also shows her receiving first aid and getting a plaster, as she fractured her thumb during the stunt.

This incident is a perfect example of why one should never attempt stunts without expert supervision. Thankfully, she was not performing this on a public road - if there were other vehicles or people around, they could have easily been harmed.

Such videos of individuals doing stunts with their vehicles merely to gain popularity on social media have become far too common. We strongly discourage such acts, as they not only put the driver’s life at risk but also the lives of other road users.
