Tug of war videos are quite popular on the internet. We have seen people come up with unique ideas to make their content viral. Here we have one such video where a Mahindra Thar is seen competing against a Land Rover Defender worth crores in a classic tug of war. The video has been shared by Crazy XYZ on his YouTube channel. In the video, the vlogger and his friends bring a Mahindra Thar diesel and a Land Rover Defender 110 petrol for a classic tug of war competition.

At the beginning of the video, the vlogger smartly mentions that the more expensive Land Rover Defender in this video comes with an engine smaller than that of the Thar. The Thar gets a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine while the Defender uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit.

When he said this in the video, everyone in the group made fun of the Defender and joined the Thar group. The majority of the people were supporting the Thar while only a few were with the Defender.

The vlogger knew what would happen but still supported the Thar for entertainment purposes. The Defender petrol generates 296 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque while the Thar generates 130 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque.

The vlogger was in the Defender while his friend was in the Thar. He invited his friend for a quick race on their farm before starting the tug of war. They conducted a couple of runs and in all the rounds, the Land Rover Defender won the race.

The confidence of the Thar driver started to come down after he saw the power. They then aligned their cars against each other for the tug of war. The cars were initially placed on a field where the surface was very loose.

As soon as the cars started pulling, the rope broke. Then they doubled the rope for more strength. In the next couple of rounds, none of the SUVs made any progress as they were simply digging into the sand and not moving at all.

The vlogger finally realised that they were not at the right place for a tug of war. They moved their SUVs to a cemented road that had no traffic. This time when they aligned the cars, the tug of war started properly.

As expected, the Land Rover Defender was powerful and it pulled the Mahindra Thar without any issue. The Defender is a legendary name in the off-roading community and we have seen several videos that prove the same.

What makes the current-generation Defender different is that it manages to do all that it used to do without compromising on comfort. At the end of the video, however, the vlogger mentions that even the Mahindra Thar performed well, and at moments when he was letting his foot off the accelerator, the Thar was pulling the Defender without any issue.
