Remember The Stranded XEV 9E At Tanglang La? Owner Thanks Mahindra For Outstanding Customer Service (Video)

Remember the Mahindra XEV 9E which was recently left stranded in Taglang La, Ladakh? Well, the same vehicle has now returned to its owner in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Recently, a video has been shared online in which the owner has elaborated how Mahindra provided him with an impeccable resolution to the problem. He stated that he was refunded for all the travel costs which were caused due to the change of plans after his vehicle suffered from an issue arising due to wrong towing.
This video, talking about the resolution offered by Mahindra for the stranded XEV 9E, has been shared on YouTube by Arun Panwar on his channel. In the short video, the owner mentions that after this vehicle was stranded in Taglang La, Ladakh, they had brought the vehicle to Leh on a flatbed.
After that, he took a flight from Leh to Jaipur, and his vehicle was repaired in Leh. He highlighted that Mahindra had flown in technicians from Srinagar to Leh, where a small part which was damaged was repaired. Following that, the vehicle was dropped off in Chandigarh from Nakeela Pass.
The owner added that Mahindra had arranged to tow the vehicle from Leh to Nakeela Pass, and then it was driven from Nakeela Pass to Chandigarh. Finally, he took a flight from Jaipur to Chandigarh and drove back his XEV 9E. In the same video, the owner also highlighted that the entire cost, including the flights and the taxi cost which he had covered, totalling Rs 35,000, was reimbursed to him by Mahindra.
As mentioned, this particular Mahindra XEV 9E electric SUV was stranded in Taglang La. What happened was that the owner of this vehicle, Rakesh, was driving to Umling La, the highest motorable road in the world. He was with his friends in a convoy of cars including a Jaguar F-Pace, Toyota Legender, Tata Harrier, and his Mahindra XEV 9E.
During this trip, they began their journey from Manali with a 100 percent charge in the XEV 9E. However, what happened was that the steep climbs and heavy load caused the battery of this XEV 9E to drop to 50% by Jispa. And as there were no public charging stations in Jispa and their hotel had no power plug, the vehicle could not be charged.
Following that, they continued the journey, and when the vehicle reached 30 percent charge, the owner and his group decided to tow the vehicle and charge it with regenerative braking. For this, the vehicle was being towed in drive mode. It was mentioned that this method worked for a while, and 10–15 percent charge was gained as well.
However, after the group reached Taglang La by 10:30 PM, the XEV 9E’s battery was completely drained, and it completely shut down with a dashboard error. It stated, “Gear Shifter Failure: Drive vehicle without shifting gear to Mahindra dealer.”
After that, the Park mode and brakes got locked, and the vehicle had to be left stranded. Following this, the owner had contacted Mahindra Roadside Assistance. However, initially, there was no resolution provided. But when he raised this issue with the Jaipur dealership of Mahindra, they arranged a tow truck for him.
