Moving Mahindra XUV700 Catches Fire: Passengers Have Narrow Escape [Video]
Over the last few years, we have seen numerous cases where brand-new cars have caught on fire while driving. Each time, there is a different reason, and in most cases, people immediately get out and save themselves. Once again, we have another such incident in which a Mahindra XUV700 caught fire on the road. Thankfully, the two occupants sitting inside the vehicle were vigilant enough to come out of it before it got fully engulfed in flames.
Mahindra XUV700 burns in broad daylight
This video showing a Mahindra XUV700 burning in front of hundreds of people has been shared on Instagram. In this short video, we can note that a blue-colored Mahindra XUV700 was parked at an intersection with a lot of thick grey smoke coming out of the front portion of this SUV. Soon after this, we can note that flames started coming out of the grille and covering the bonnet.
During this time, hundreds of people stopped on the road and started carefully watching this vehicle getting engulfed in flames. The fire started spreading on the front windshield and the interior of this XUV700. It was reported that a fire brigade arrived at the location and extinguished the fire. However, almost half of the SUV was burnt by the time it was extinguished.
Details of this XUV700 burning incident
As per the reports, this particular incident took place at the Tenduni Chowk, Bikramganj of Rohtas district, Bihar. What happened was that this particular XUV700 was coming from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. It belongs to Dr. Mehboob Alam, a resident of Bikramganj.
There were two people inside the vehicle when it started emitting thick grey smoke before completely burning down. Thankfully, both of these occupants were very alert and quickly escaped from the vehicle before the fire intensified.
What caused this fire?
At the moment, there is no concrete report which reveals the exact reason behind the fire of this XUV700. However, some sources have stated that this vehicle was equipped with an aftermarket CNG kit. Now, whether the kit malfunctioned and caused this fire has not been reported.
What has been mentioned is that the fire brigade had to use special chemicals to extinguish this fire. The fire could have also been caused due to an electrical fault as well. Most likely, Mahindra Automotive, as well as the insurance agency, will be conducting an investigation to find the real reason behind this fire.
Tata Tiago.ev fire
The above incident is not the first time that we have seen a new vehicle burning on the road. Just a few days ago, a video became viral on the internet in which a top-of-the-line Tata Tiago.ev was seen burning on a flyover. This case was reported from Ajmer, Rajasthan.
As per the reports, the owner of this Tata Tiago.ev, which had the registration number RJ 01 CF 4043, Bharat Keswani, was traveling with his wife. They were driving over a flyover when suddenly the front portion of their vehicle caught fire, and they immediately stopped the car. The real cause of the fire in this incident was also not reported.
