Mandira Bedi is a popular Indian television and movie actress, and also an established TV presenter and fashion designer. She was one of the first Indian celebrities to buy an electric vehicle. In 2020, Mandira Bedi bought a type 1 Nexon EV. She has shared the image of her new EV on the internet. It looks like the actress used the EV for a couple of years and has now upgraded to another electric vehicle. This time around, she has bought a brand-new Volvo C40 Recharge EV.

The video has been shared by Instant Bollywood on their Instagram page. In this video, we see Mandira Bedi walking next to her brand new C40 Recharge electric SUV. The actress, along with her children, walks towards the car.

They stop in front of the car and pose for pictures. Once they are done posing for the paparazzi, the actress simply walks to the other side of the car.

The car seen here is the Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV worth Rs 62.95 lakh, ex-showroom. We are not sure if Mandira has sold her Nexon EV, which she bought in 2020, and replaced it with the new Volvo or if she is keeping both. In the video, we do not see any registration number, which hints that this is a new vehicle.

The Volvo C40 was officially launched in the Indian market last year. The C40 Recharge is essentially an XC40 Recharge redesigned with a coupe-like design.

This was the second electric SUV from Volvo in India. The C40 Recharge looks similar to the XC40 from the front. Just like most EVs, the front grille is completely closed to reduce drag.

At the rear, we have a coupe-like design with redesigned slim tail lamps. We also see a split spoiler on the roof of the EV. The interior of the C40 Recharge remains typically Volvo. It is similar to the interior of the XC40 Recharge.

It offers a 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, a full suite of sensor-based ADAS tech with autonomous driving, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver seat, a premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, 413 liters of boot space, 31 liters of frunk space, and so on.

It should be noted that the interior of the C40 Recharge is completely leather-free. Coming to the specs, the C40 gets the same underpinnings and powertrain configuration as the XC40 Recharge. The C40 in India comes with a dual-motor setup, with one motor placed at the front axle while the other is placed at the rear.

It is powered by a 78 kWh battery pack and the SUV has a claimed driving range of 530 km. As this SUV has dual motors, the power is sent to all four wheels and the electric motor generates a combined 408 Ps and 660 Nm of peak torque. The electric SUV can do 0-100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds. The SUV supports fast charging and the SUV’s battery can be recharged from 0-100 percent in just 27 minutes using a 150 kW DC charger.
