Indian Man Puts Deport By USA Sticker On Tata Ace: Gets Roasted By Netizens

A video showing a man placing a "Deport by USA" sticker on a Punjab-registered Tata Ace mini-truck has gone viral, triggering a wave of reactions online. Many people are expressing their frustration, questioning why someone would proudly display their deportation status as a badge of honour.

The Context: Mass Deportations of Indians from the US

The video comes at a time when the United States has been actively deporting undocumented immigrants, including hundreds of Indians, under the new Trump administration. The US government has been cracking down on illegal immigration, leading to multiple batches of deportations in February alone.

On February 5, 104 Indian immigrants were sent back to India. Another 117 were deported on the 15th, followed by 112 more on the 16th. The most recent round took place on February 24, when 12 Indians were sent to their homeland.

The Viral Video: 'Deport by USA' On A Tata Ace!

In the video, a man is seen carefully pasting a "Deport by USA" sticker onto the left door of a Tata Ace. He also sticks 'US National Flag' sticker right next to it. The Ace is a popular light commercial vehicle and the vehicle in the video even has a sticker of what looks like a Peterbilt truck on its door.

This shows the man's fascination towards the American truck culture. The guy shared the video on Instagram which soon got shared and recirculated, sparking a lot of reactions, mostly not in favour of him.

Social Media Users Are Not Impressed

The video has been gathering unpleasant reactions from among netizens and there is every reason for it to! Most people are annoyed by the fact that this man takes pride in getting deported from a country which he trespassed into without proper permits or documents.

Many users slammed him for treating his return to India like a personal victory. One person commented, "Doing this like it’s a flex, and they wonder why no one likes them." Another added, "They think it’s a proud moment." A funny comment reads "Your English is why you got deported bro!" referring to the words used on the sticker.

Many roasted the man for with memes and satirical parallels. Missed adding “entered illegally”- commented a user. "Wow! The pride in their eyes for getting deported for illegal immigration. Shouldn’t they be thankful they weren’t jailed?" Another sarcastically remarked, "The desperation is unreal… still clinging to that flag!"

Some users even brough in nationalism and globalisation and came up with comments like "Great action by the US, India should also do the same with Bangladeshis". It is better to not discuss those in detail here!

Another set of comments referring to Punjab's literacy can also be seen, and these have an interesting point of reference to them. These are mostly posted by Keralites, and with reference to the remarks made by the panel in the controversial 'India's Got Latent' show.

Punjabi comedian Jaspreet Singh mockingly said ' Kerala saar, 100% literacy saar' when Pearl William, one of the show's candidates, refused to open up about her political views and further said that she doesn't vote. The comedian even delivered the derogatory remark in a South Indian accent for added impact. So now, these comments on the 'deported' Punjabi's post are Keralites taking a dig or two at the joke that offended them.

Not A One-Off Case

Indians sticking 'Deport by USA' stickers and flexing their misfortunes isn't hard to find. Do a quick Google search and you will see at least four such videos. In a separate case, another man was seen pasting it on a 7-8 seater autorickshaw.

In addition to these, various videos of Indians describing the 'Donkey Route' (meaning an illegal way to immigrate into a country) to the United States are also doing rounds on the internet.

Bottomline

It is a shame that these deportees are taking pride in their plights instead of reflecting on their mistakes. Even more shameless is the fact that some of them who had returned to India earlier, now tend to leverage the 'Deport by USA' stickers to gain sympathy and boost their businesses / maximise profits.
