Olympic Medal Winner Manu Bhaker Gifted MG Windsor: Windsor EV Production Crosses 15,000 Units

Indian shooter and Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker has received a Windsor EV as gift from JSW MG Motor India. The Windsor was launched in India in September 2024, soon after the Paris Olympics 2024. JSW MG India had then declared that all Olympic medalists would receive a Windsor EV as a gift. The carmaker fulfilled this promise by commencing the formal deliveries in a grand event held in Chandigarh in November last year. Now, the athlete seems to have got the vehicle delivered. It also happens at a time when the manufacturer is celebrating the production milestone of 15,000 units for the Windsor.
If you haven’t heard of her yet, Manu Bhaker is the most successful woman shooter in India today. The 23-year-old sport shooter won not one, but two Bronze medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics- in the women’s 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed team events. This was a first for India.
She is also the first Indian shooter to reach the Olympic finals in an individual event in 20 years. Plus, she has also won gold medals at the World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympic Games. She hails from Jhajjar, Haryana and started shooting at the age of 14.
Now, Manu is preparing for her next world championship. She recently confirmed that the four-time Asian Games gold medallist Jaspal Rana will continue to be her coach. Rana was recently appointed as the High-Performance trainer for the pistol discipline by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). It was under his guidance that Manu could bag two Olympic medals in Paris and this mentorship would continue, hopefully for the good.
Let’s now talk about the Windsor EV that she received as a gift. It is an important model for MG India, and comes in three variants- Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. The ex-showroom prices start at 12 lakh and go up to 14 lakh. MG offers two ownership schemes- buying the vehicle outright or through the battery as a service (BaaS) scheme. The BaaS model allows owners to reduce initial costs by paying for the vehicle alone and not the battery pack. A battery rent will have to be paid in this case, every month.
The EV stands out with its distinctive styling that focuses on smooth, rounded surfaces rather than sharp lines. Its bulbous and aerodynamically sculpted panels look futuristic. The front fascia gets split headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, and a prominent air dam. The 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and stylish tail lamps further add to its appeal. It measures 4,295 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,677 mm in height. The wheelbase here is 2,700 mm.
Inside, it boasts a futuristic cabin design with all-black upholstery, accented by elegant bronze inserts. The 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster and the largest touchscreen infotainment system in the segment dominate the dashboard.
Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, Aero Lounge seats that can recline up to 135 degrees and cruise control.
The Windsor is powered by a single-motor setup paired with a 38 kWh battery pack. The front axle-mounted motor produces 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It is claimed to deliver an impressive 331 km range.
