Wrong-side driving is a major issue on roads in India. This irresponsible behavior on the road often leads to accidents, and in some cases, people even lose their lives. Despite this, people continue to repeat this mistake and risk their lives along with others. Here, we have a video showing a Maruti Baleno being driven on the wrong side of the road and getting dragged by a truck on a busy highway.

The video has been shared by a user on YouTube as a short. The exact location is not known but, the video mentions it as Ahmedabad Baroda expressway. In this video, we see a white-colored Maruti Baleno being dragged by a loaded truck on a busy highway. Initially, it looked like the truck driver was at fault, but if you look carefully, the Maruti Baleno is on the wrong side of the road. We can see traffic moving in the opposite direction in the other lane.

It appears that the Maruti Baleno driver had joined the highway from a pocket road and was trying to reach a median gap by driving on the wrong side of the road. Since this is a short video, we are not sure what exactly happened. The driver and occupants of the Maruti Baleno were already out of the car.

It seems the truck driver refused to change lanes and blocked the way of the Baleno on the wrong side. This probably led to an argument, and when the argument escalated, the frustrated truck driver decided to drive ahead, dragging the hatchback. As the truck dragged the car, we can hear the owner shouting at the truck driver.

He is dialing his phone, probably informing the police about the accident. The truck crashed into the car, pushed it closer to the median, and then continued to move forward. Other cars are parked on the shoulder of the road, and it looks like they all stopped to witness the argument.

The comment section under this short video is filled with people supporting the truck driver. Most of the comments state that the truck driver is not at fault and that the Baleno driver was driving on the wrong side. If you are driving on the wrong side of the road—especially on a busy highway—such accidents are bound to happen.

While we understand that driving on the wrong side of the road is illegal, we feel that what the truck driver did here was excessive. Fortunately, there were no occupants in the car when the truck rammed into it. Most truck drivers in India drive continuously for hours without stopping. Many of them are tired and often get easily irritated in such situations.

We believe that is why the driver simply decided to drive away. Whatever the reason may have been, it was not the right thing to do. The truck driver could have easily injured someone on the road.

Once again, we would like to emphasize that driving is a job that requires discipline and patience. One should always follow traffic rules. This situation wouldn’t have occurred if the owner of the Baleno had not driven on the wrong side in the first place.
