Over the last few years, we have been hearing that local residents of the beautiful state of Goa are extremely unhappy with tourists. This is especially the case with Indian tourists. Now, you may be wondering why this is the situation in Goa. Well, the answer is that numerous rowdy Indian tourists, who have no regard for laws and local Goan traditions, have been destroying the peace of this state. Recently, a video showing this exact thing has been shared online. In this short clip, a reckless Maruti Suzuki Baleno driver can be seen standing next to his car, which was stuck on a beach in Goa.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Stuck on Beach in Goa

This video, showing the Maruti Suzuki Baleno stuck on the beach in Goa, has been shared on Facebook by Goa Khabar on their page. In this short video, we can note that a man who is the driver of this particular Maruti Suzuki Baleno was standing next to it. The video shows that this man was taking the help of a person on the beach to dig up the sand underneath the car to bring it out.

As per the video, this incident took place at Morjim Beach. What’s even more interesting is that there was another vehicle, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which was also stuck in the same situation a little farther from this Baleno. Coming back to the situation of this Baleno, while the owner was trying to excavate the vehicle from the sand, a police officer, along with a few other local residents, came to confront him.

The police officer started taking pictures of this man with the Baleno. However, the driver immediately stood up and was moving away from the hatchback. So, the police officer asked him to stand next to the car, but the driver refused and stated that the car was not his. Following this, he started explaining to the people that he was brought to this beach by Google Maps.

He stated that as he is not a local resident, he typed in “Morjim Beach” on Google Maps, and he was led to this location. Immediately shooting down this baseless claim, the local residents stated that the road ends long before the beach and that there was no reason for him to drive onto the beach. However, he was adamant that Google Maps caused this error.

Finally, when the police officer asked the driver for his driving license, he stated that he had not brought his IDs and that they were at the hotel. Following this, the confrontation between the driver and local residents continued as he tried to convince everyone that he drove onto Morjim Beach because of Google Maps.

This Is Exactly Why Goan Residents Are Upset with Indian Tourists

The above incident is a prime example of why all the local residents of Goa are annoyed with Indian tourists. There have been numerous incidents on Goan beaches where driving is strictly prohibited. However, many Indian tourists still bring their cars onto the beaches to create a ruckus.

Generally, foreign tourists do not get involved in such situations, as they have a high regard for local laws and traditions. Due to such incidents, Goan residents are becoming hostile toward Indian tourists. For this reason, Indian tourists have been complaining that Goan residents do not treat them well and are very rude in their behavior.

Now, it has to be noted that due to the actions of a few antisocial people, most Indian tourists are blamed. But that cannot be changed because similar incidents have been increasing a lot.

Why Should You Never Drive on the Beach?

Although it has been stated numerous times that driving on beaches is illegal, many people still have this question: why is it illegal? Well, the answer is that beaches are home to many living organisms that reside under the sand. Driving heavy vehicles on beaches can destroy them. Also, turtles and other animals lay eggs on beaches, and polluting and driving on them harms their habitat.

This is why we request everyone to only walk on beaches and keep their vehicles in the parking lots. As mentioned, it is illegal to drive on beaches. However, apart from being illegal, it is even more foolish to drive a front-wheel-drive vehicle on beaches full of sand.

These vehicles are not designed to be driven anywhere apart from tarmac and a little bit of dirt roads. However, people somehow still want to test their luck by driving these FWD cars on beaches. In a lot of cases, even four-wheel-drive vehicles also get stuck in sandy situations.
