Maruti Esteem Faster Than Lamborghini In India! - Viral Video
We have said this before- India is one crazy country. The roads here can be very dramatic. In the past, we have seen many videos in which the roads and traffic here surprised us with incidents that can be called bizarre. Now, a new video shows how something as humble as a Maruti Esteem can be faster than a Lamborghini Aventador on Indian roads! The clip has set the internet talking.

The video opens by showing a Lamborghini Aventador S finished in a bright Neon Green shade driving on a narrow single-lane road. It has TN registration plates. The V12 supercar is going fairly slow, likely due to the narrow, crowded nature of the road. The video has, however, been sped up- that’s why all vehicles, including the Lamborghini, are seen moving fast.
A Maruti Esteem is seen following the Aventador S closely. Soon, the two confront a speedbreaker. From the visuals, this bump isn’t too steep. The Aventador S, however, rolls too close to the ground. The ground clearance is just around 125mm. So, it slows down extensively and almost comes to a stop, before taking the speed-breaker.
The Esteem that has been tailgating it also slows down slightly. It then speeds over the speed bump, flexing its 170-180mm of ground clearance. It gets ahead of the Lamborghini and starts driving in front of it, in a zig-zag manner. This goes on for a few moments and then speeds away.
The Lamborghini driver is likely enjoying the Esteem owner’s flex and makes no attempt to speed or catch up. If not for these narrow Indian roads and their speedbreakers, what other scenario can you possibly think of that would let a humble Maruti Esteem overtake a mighty Aventador S?

The video soon went viral and has had over 357K views at the time of writing. It has sparked laughter and discussions online. The comments section has some really interesting remarks. ‘Bro is just jealous he couldn’t afford it’ said a user, taking a dig at the Maruti owner.
Another comment reads ‘One Flyby will keep him humble’. Very, very true! The Aventador S is a legendary supercar. Its 6.5-litre petrol V12 was capable of making 740hp and 690 Nm. The car could do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 2.9 seconds and had a top speed of 350 kph. The Esteem, on the other hand, had a tiny 1.3L petrol engine that made just around 84 hp. Highlighting the massive disparity in performance and powertrain abilities, another user wrote, ‘One flyby from the Aventador S would make that maruti fly to space’.
The Esteem has excelled in India’s rally scene. There was a time when race-prepped versions of it dominated tracks. Some users recalled this lineage in comments. ‘Esteem stole the show,’ commented one, while another said, ‘Official rally car of indian ! Suzuki Esteem 1.3’. That said, there is still no comparison between the two as long as one is sober and in his/her senses!
Some users also criticised the rash driving, done by the Esteem driver on camera. After crossing the speed bump, it drove in a zig-zag manner for some distance. It narrowly missed crashing into a couple of vehicles while doing so. The driver’s irresponsible act essentially put the lives of those around, at risk.
