Maruti Jimny Owner Gets Extorted In Broad Daylight Despite Having Dashcam [Video]

Indian roads are full of surprises, and we have several examples on the internet that prove this statement right. Several scams also happen on our roads, and while people try to stay alert, these scammers come up with new and innovative ways every time.
Here, we have one such video where a Maruti Jimny owner is seen getting extorted in broad daylight by bikers who claimed that his car crashed into their bike.
The video has been shared by Amit Jain on his Instagram page. The video has been posted in three parts. The vlogger owns a Maruti Jimny, and he mentions that one day he was travelling in his Maruti Jimny when he suddenly came across a biker who was asking him to pull over.
He shared the dashcam footage from the Jimny, and in the video, we can see that the Jimny is overtaking the bike from the right. The bike had three people on it, and as the car overtakes at around 40–50 kmph speed, the driver hears a sudden thud from the rear of his car.
He wasn’t sure, but it felt like the biker had hit his car with some object. He continued driving, and after a few seconds, he noticed that the biker was following him and was asking him to pull over. The vlogger stopped on the side of the road, and the rider approached him aggressively and started claiming that the Jimny crashed into his bike and that the visor on his bike broke.
The vlogger mentions that the bike didn’t have any turn indicators or a number plate. They were trying to extort money from the driver.
The driver asked the biker to explain what happened and where exactly the car had hit the bike. They were not ready for a conversation and simply started asking for money for repairs. By this time, locals also gathered, and they knew that the car driver was innocent.
They asked him to leave, as he hadn’t committed any crime. However, as the Jimny driver proceeded, the same biker came in front of his car again and stopped the bike in front of his vehicle.
The car was in the extreme right lane, and there were other vehicles behind him. He had no choice but to apply the brakes gradually. While trying to stop, the Jimny bumped into the biker a couple of times, and this gave them more reason to ask for money.
One of the persons on the bike had a crutch in his hand. It initially looked like he was handicapped. The car driver then spoke to the biker and eventually had to pay him Rs 500 to resolve the issue. The man carrying the crutch, while coming towards the car, was limping, but while going back, he was walking normally and even rode the bike away.
Despite having video evidence, the Maruti Jimny owner had to pay money for no fault of his own. This definitely looks like a scam, and he should have ideally contacted the cops when he was pulled over initially. The Jimny driver did the right thing by not getting out of the car, as things might have escalated or these thugs could have even stolen valuables from the car.
