Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Presso in India in September 2019. Many see it as a flop, but a small crowd still prefers the S-presso for its tall stance and SUV-ish looks. The larger crowd hates this car for its design. You and I would have, at some point in time, wished it to have a design that's less ugly. Looks like someone took this thought seriously and set out to give the S-Presso a better face and more SUV-ish appeal, all by fitting it with a kit that draws heavily from the Jimny! The result is a better-looking S-Presso that desperately tries to look like a Jimny!

Before you wonder, this isn't a Karol Bagh custom or one that happened anywhere in India. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) commences exports of the made-in-India S-Presso to some parts of Asia, South Africa and Latin America. This mod-job comes from Indonesia. We hate to admit it, but this build looks cool!

GH Style has rolled out an insane body kit that would add more character to your S-Presso and turn it into something that you'd looking at. The kit takes heavy inspiration from the Jimny. It makes heavy reworks to the S-Presso's stock front fascia. The kit comes with Jimny-styled circular headlamps and a boxier and more rugged grille. These add more off-road character to the S-Presso.

Like they do on the Jimny, the circular headlamps sit on either sides, and come with matching DRLs. The bumper design has also been revised. It now gets a new Blacked-out element and yellow fog lamps.

The Jimny, comes powered by a 1.5 L petrol engine. It is rugged and shines in trails with its compact size, boxy shape and light weight. It admittedly has a recognisable design.

The kit also adds flared wheel arches to the vehicle at both ends. Black rocker panels and a new set of White wheels are also part of the package.

Changes at the rear are fewer in number. You'll just see a larger spoiler and a completely new rear bumper. The tail lamps and reflectors see no change at all.

In short, the front fascia tastefully mimics that of the Jimny, and the rest of the design goes along well. We see an air of subtlety in the way changes have been made. Tying it closer to the Jimny, which has a huge fan base all around the world, has only raised the appeal of this build. GH Style is now accepting orders for this body kit, and it is highly likely that it will reach the Indian shores sooner than we expect.

The India-spec S-Presso is powered by a tiny 998 cc three-cylinder (K10C) petrol engine that churns out 67 hp and 90Nm. The car weighs just 700 kilograms, making for a beautiful power-to-weight ratio. This ensures zippy performance.

A five-speed manual and an AMT unit can be had as transmission choices. In 2022, the manufacturer introduced a CNG version as well, on the LXi and VXi trims. The S-Presso S-CNG is claimed to offer a mileage of 32.73 km/kg.

Think of the S-Presso as an SUV-ish alternative to the Alto K10. The kit levels inside stay true to this image as well. The top-spec comes with an air purifier, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, reverse parking sensors, and an electronic stability program with hill-hold assist (limited to AMT variants alone).

At the time of writing this article, the S-Presso's ex-showroom price starts at Rs 4.26 Lakh and goes up to 6.12 Lakh. This body kit could probably add another lakh to this.
