Maruti Alto Converted Into Milk Delivery Pickup Truck: India's Not For Beginners Moment [Video]

The one thing that people in India are very good at is “Jugaad.” No matter what the situation is, we always find new and innovative ways to get things done. Even if they may not be textbook examples, they still get the job done. Most recently, we came across a milkman’s Maruti Suzuki Alto hatchback. However, the unique part about this particular vehicle is that it is not a complete hatchback. Rather, it has been converted into a pickup vehicle. The videos of this particular Maruti Suzuki Alto milk pickup truck have gone viral.
These images and videos showing how this Maruti Suzuki Alto is being used as a milk delivery vehicle have been shared on Instagram by Bajwa.dairy_farms on their page. It can be noted that the front half of this particular vehicle looks like any other first-generation Alto, which was launched in India back in 2000.
However, when we look closer, from the side and rear, the main change can be seen. We can observe that the rear of this Maruti Suzuki Alto has been chopped off and converted into a truck bed. The two rear doors have been shut and completely sealed.
Along with it, the rear seats have been removed, and a truck bed has been placed. Apart from this, instead of the original tailgate, this Alto gets a smaller downward-opening tailgate, which has been taken from a Mahindra vehicle.
This is not the first time that we are featuring a Maruti Suzuki Alto pickup truck here on Cartoq. Just a few months ago, we shared a few videos in which a shop named Chhabra Body Maker from Chopta, Sirsa, Haryana, was featured. This particular shop is known for creating similar pickup trucks from old vehicles like the Maruti 800 and the first-generation Alto.
The shop takes old cars, then cuts off the rear portions of these hatchbacks, removes the seats, and adds custom truck beds. These vehicles also get a steel frame underneath their body. This is added to ensure that the weight of the load can be equally distributed and does not damage the chassis of the vehicle.
Now, coming to the cost of these vehicles, the person who shared these videos highlighted that the Maruti 800 converted mini pickup is currently for sale for Rs 55,000. He added that if someone only wants to get the rear body, it can be custom-made for just Rs 22,000.
Meanwhile, for the Maruti Suzuki Alto pickup, the vlogger mentioned that it could be done within a budget of Rs 24,000 to Rs 28,000. However, if someone wishes to buy an already made vehicle, he showed another converted Alto, which was priced at Rs 85,000.
