In India, people have started taking road trips seriously, and many of them even drive their own cars from one state to another for the fun of it. As we already know, Indian roads are filled with surprises, and we have come across several examples that show how dangerous it can sometimes be to drive on them. We are not talking about busy highways, but even a less crowded road can be equally dangerous. Here we have a video that shows just that.

The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. It was shared with him by one of his followers. The owner of the car was travelling with his friends from Hyderabad to Goa. They were travelling along the highway when they took a detour due to road works. They were driving the car through a narrow road and relying on maps to navigate, as they were not familiar with the route.

The owner mentions that he has been to Goa by road several times, but this was the first time he was driving through this narrow country road. They continued driving through this stretch, and after some time, they came across a turn. The driver turned, but he didn’t realise that it was a sharp right turn.

In fact, he mentions that the map didn’t show a turn at this location at all. The driver didn’t realise that the car had actually gotten onto a bridge. The left-side wheels of the Baleno veered off the road, and within seconds, the car fell off the bridge.

Thankfully, the bridge was not too tall, and the bushes under the bridge actually helped the driver and occupants during the accident. The car fell upside down off the bridge, and the whole incident happened very quickly.

Even before the driver or the occupants realised what was happening, the car had fallen off the bridge. The owner, who was driving the car, mentions that he could not recollect some of the events from that day as he was in shock. It was his friends who unbuckled the seatbelts and helped him get out.

The car’s roof was damaged, and as this happened in a remote area, they had to call RSA to pull the car out. He also mentions that none of the cars passing through the area stopped to help them.

It was the RSA truck driver who brought water and food for the driver and the occupants. In this case, there were no road signs indicating that a sharp turn was ahead. It should also be noted that the bridge onto which the car was driven was very narrow, and there were no protective railings around it.

A person driving through this stretch, especially in a hatchback, might not get a clear view of the edge, as there is a small incline to get onto the bridge. If there had been railings, the driver would have had a better idea of the layout and driven accordingly. Thankfully, he wasn’t driving fast, as that would have increased the damage and the risk of injuries.
