Some drivers drive their vehicles on the road thinking that they own it. They believe that they can drive however they please and that they will not have to face any consequences. Thankfully, recently Kerala police have proved that driving with this thinking can get you in such trouble as you would never even imagine. It has been reported that Kerala police have fined a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz driver Rs 2.5 lakh and canceled his driving license because he did not give way to an ambulance that was in a hurry.

Maruti Ciaz driver does not make way for ambulance

The video showing the Ciaz driver not giving way to an ambulance has been shared on Instagram by Motor World India on their page. In this infuriating video, we can note that a silver-colored Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan was driving in the left lane of a two-lane road.

What’s infuriating about this video is that it has been recorded from an ambulance that was being driven just behind this Ciaz. We can note that despite the ambulance’s siren being active and the driver continuously blaring the horn, this stupid Ciaz driver was not moving away.

It goes without saying that any sane driver who has been driving on public roads knows that they need to move their vehicles aside for any emergency vehicle. This is especially the case when there is an ambulance or a firetruck coming behind with sirens active.

However, this particular Ciaz driver, as we can see, was just not moving away from his lane. No matter how long the ambulance driver kept honking, this ignorant driver did not want to move away. At the moment, it has not been reported if there was any patient inside the ambulance or not.

Although even if there was no one inside the ambulance, it could be possible that it had to reach somewhere there was a patient. Unfortunately, the Ciaz driver felt that driving his vehicle without giving way was more important than someone’s life.

What generally happens is that a lot of times ignorant and stupid people like this Ciaz driver get away with such heinous acts. However, fortunately, this time around justice was served. In the video, towards the end, we can note that there is a picture of a police officer standing next to this particular Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and its owners.

It has been reported that as soon as this video was submitted, the driver and owner of this vehicle were tracked down using the registration details, following which a hefty fine of Rs 2.5 lakh was imposed on them. What’s also great is that the driver’s license of this Ciaz driver has been canceled as well.

Netizens’ reactions

Each and every netizen in the comment section of this particular video has appreciated the quick action taken by Kerala police. They have mentioned that this driver deserved such a hefty fine and the cancellation of his driver’s license. A few netizens even added that the registration of this Maruti Suzuki Ciaz should also be canceled.

Always move away when you hear sirens

Any person who is learning to drive or has already been driving for years should know this basic rule: steer away safely from the road as soon as you hear a siren from behind. This is because sirens are only provided to official vehicles such as ambulances, firetrucks, and police vehicles, along with politicians’ vehicles.

In most cases, all of the above are in a hurry to reach somewhere important. So, it is our duty to move away so that their task does not get affected. Unfortunately, this particular Ciaz driver learned this the hard way. So we request you to please follow this guideline and also follow other traffic rules.
