Angry Kanwariyas Destroy Maruti Suzuki Dzire Taxi And Severely Beat Its Driver
The monsoon season, or in Hindi as it's called “Shrawan,” has commenced in India. During this season, the devotees of Lord Shiva, who are called “Kanwariyas,” start their pilgrimage. They are seen carrying decorated bamboo sticks with holy river water in clay pots and offer it to the Shivalinga in different temples. Now, as these Kanwariyas travel by foot, they sometimes get hit by vehicles on the road. Recently, one such incident took place, and as a result of this, a number of Kanwariyas destroyed a Maruti Suzuki Dzire taxi.
The video showing the Kanwariyas destroying a Maruti Suzuki Dzire cab in front of police officers has been shared on X by Ghar Ke Kalesh on their page. According to the post, this particular incident took place in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. What happened was this particular taxi driver accidentally hit a Kanwariya and damaged his Kanwar.
As a result of this, the other Kanwariyas became extremely angry, and to show their support, they started destroying the Dzire taxi. It has also been mentioned that the driver of the taxi was beaten very severely. What was even more shocking about this incident is that police authorities were present at the spot but were unable to stop the Kanwariyas.
Taxi destroyed by Kanwariyas
In the short video shared, we can note that one Kanwariya was seen hitting the left side of this Dzire cab with his bamboo Kanwar, which was completely destroyed. We can also note that initially a young kid was standing on the rear boot lid of this sedan and managed to break the rear windshield.
Apart from these two, there were a few more Kanwariyas who started damaging the cab. Of these, another young boy managed to break the front left window. In the clip, it can be seen that as these people were destroying the vehicle, three police officers started pushing away these people.
The clip also shows that while the police officers were on the left side of the vehicle, another young kid who was on the right side of the vehicle broke the driver-side window as well. This entire incident was recorded by a lot of people on the road. In the clip, an officer can be seen scolding the watching public as well.
Although what happened afterwards has not been shown in the video, most likely the driver of this particular taxi was taken to the hospital. As for the arrest report of these Kanwariyas, nothing has been mentioned yet.

Another user stated, “Shocked to see Kanwariyas in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, damaging a vehicle & brutally beating the driver after an accidental Kanwar hit, with police & public watching. This is the 3rd similar video this week, including Mangaluru.”
The person added, “Who are they? Who grants them authority to destroy property? Why is India’s road rage & crime rising daily? Who benefits from this chaos? Why aren’t authorities stopping it? Is this the India we know? Demand accountability now!”
