Maruti Jimny After 60,000 Kms: Longest Ownership In India Detailed [Video]

For a lot of people, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny lifestyle off-roader is an underwhelming SUV. However, for a lot of others, it is an amazing vehicle. Recently, one such Jimny owner has shared a video in which he gives his candid thoughts and his overview of his Jimny after driving it over 60,000 km in just two years. He gives all the insights into the long-term ownership of this highly capable off-roading machine.
The video of this Jimny owner giving his review after driving it over 60,000 km has been shared on YouTube by Adil Ashmed on their channel. It starts off with the owner introducing the vehicle and himself. He mentions that his Jimny has covered over 60,000 km after he bought it in July of 2023. The owner states that he has driven it on all terrains, and he will talk about all the good and the bad things about it.
Following the introduction, the first thing he mentions is the pricing of the Jimny. The owner states that he paid Rs 16.10 lakh for his top-of-the-line Jimny Alpha variant. Unfortunately, after paying this price, Maruti Suzuki reduced the price of this SUV significantly with massive discounts. However, the owner does say that he does not regret his decision.
Next up, he mentions that the 60,000 km has been racked up on the odometer after driving it in city roads, highways, and also off-road terrains. Soon after this, he talks about the fuel efficiency of this SUV. He states that on the highways, he generally gets mileage of around 14–17 kmpl. Meanwhile, in the city, it fluctuates around 10.5–12 kmpl.
The owner highlighted that some people have reported single-digit mileage as well. However, he added that his particular SUV has never offered such low mileage. The next thing he says about the Jimny is that it is a very likable SUV. Its reliability is very strong, and it has not troubled him a lot.
Following this, he started talking about the stock tyres offered by the company. He states that they are nice and offer decent performance during off-roading. However, the side walls of the stock tyres are not that great. Also, they are hard to find and are very expensive when they need to be replaced.
While talking about the cons of the Jimny, the owner mentions that the turning radius is quite large. He added that it requires extra maneuvering in tight spaces. Also, he states that the rear seats are not very comfortable, and the car bounces significantly due to its light rear.
Moving on, he mentions that being a ladder-frame vehicle with a boxy design, there is considerable body roll on uneven surfaces. Another important issue highlighted by the owner is that the Jimny frequently develops alignment issues, requiring regular checks of the steering sensor to ensure it's at zero degrees.
He also talks about a few other issues, including it feeling a little underpowered, brakes being not very effective, rain drip molding being prone to coming off easily, and higher-speed runs feeling a little strained.
The owner then starts highlighting the parts and maintenance costs. He mentions that the rear balance rod was Rs 800, the rear suspension was Rs 3,200, which was under warranty. Also, the side fenders were Rs 400–500, and the rear and front bumpers were Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,200, respectively. He also mentions that the bonnet costs Rs 7,000 and the link rod is Rs 2,200. Coming to the service cost, he states that it is around Rs 10,000.
