Maruti Swift Starts Floating After Trying To Cross Flooded Underpass [Video]

We have lost count of the times we have said that when you see a waterlogged road or an underbridge, please change your route. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who, despite knowing what can go wrong, still attempt to cross such water-filled roads. This time around, a new video has gone viral on the internet in which a white Maruti Suzuki Swift was seen floating on water after its driver attempted to cross a waterlogged underbridge.
This video, showing a Maruti Suzuki driver realizing that his car is floating on water, has been shared on Instagram by Samnagujarat on their channel. As per the post, this particular video has been shared from Surat, Gujarat. What we can note is that a white Maruti Suzuki Swift driver came in at high speed and went directly into the waterlogged underbridge.
Soon after this, what happens is that after reaching halfway through the waterlogged part and just at the entrance of this bridge, the Swift starts floating on the water. As a result of this, the driver of this vehicle immediately engaged the reverse gear. We can see the reversing lights getting turned on.
Finally, after floating for just a couple of seconds, the Swift was able to reverse successfully. It then found a little bit of grip and came out of the floating situation. Now, whether the vehicle is driveable after it goes deep or not has been reported. Generally, in such situations, water enters the engine block and causes a ton of damage, which seizes it.
As mentioned above, we have highlighted on numerous occasions that cars, bikes, and other vehicles should never be driven on waterlogged roads. It goes without saying that cars are not boats, so naturally, they cannot be driven on water. Like this Swift, most cars float on water, and due to this, they cannot go anywhere.
Eventually, when that happens, water finds its way into the engine of the vehicle, causing it to hydrolock. In this situation, water enters the combustion chamber of the engine and causes severe damage. Additionally, modern cars now come equipped with a lot of electronics like wiring, ECUs, and sensors.
So, when water enters the vehicle, it also damages these sensitive components. Now, many people think that as they have a lot of ground clearance (especially SUV owners), they can get past the water. However, water depths are generally unpredictable on Indian roads, and in most cases, there is always more water than one anticipates. Due to this, the vehicle gets damaged.
Back in April of this year, a video went viral on the internet in which a Royal Enfield Continental GT650 was seen riding on a flooded road. The result of this incident, you may ask? Well, its engine was seized, and the rider was seen pushing it in knee-deep water. It was reported that a brand-new ₹45,000 engine was given to this motorcycle.
