Last-Gen WagonR gets Restored & Repainted: The Final Look
When it comes to car modifications, there is a misconception that only premium cars can be modified. Now, the reality is that if someone loves their car, no matter what car it is, how old it is, or how small it is, it can still be modified. Recently, a video has been shared online in which a Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been given a completely new appearance with the help of the Khaki green color paint that is seen on the Hyundai Exter and Creta.
Unique Maruti Suzuki WagonR transformation
This video showing the transformation of an old Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been shared by Autorounders. For those who may not be aware, Autorounders is one of the most popular body shops in the country, which specialises in high-quality paint jobs, aftermarket body kit installations, and premium interior upholstery work. They mostly work on Toyota Fortuners, Innovas, and other premium cars.
However, in this most recent video, the shop owner highlights that they are working on a previous-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR, following which the manager of the shop explains all the work that they are going to do on this particular hatchback. He starts by stating that the owner of this car wanted to get a dual-tone color scheme, and he had a couple of colors in his mind.
After which, they had a discussion, and the Khaki green color seen on the Hyundai Exter and Creta was finalized. He then elaborates that for the roof and body pillars, they will paint them in a gloss black shade. The manager then adds that they are also planning to paint all the matte black body parts in gloss black, along with the aftermarket alloy wheels in the same color, to give it a unique look.
Final product
Following the explanation, the vehicle then gets into disassembly and then goes into the paint booth after body work is finished. In the booth, the roof of the WagonR was first painted in gloss black, after which the entire body was painted in Hyundai’s Khaki green color. Finally, the car gets a few coats of the clear coat, which makes it look very glossy.
Apart from the exterior of this WagonR, the complete interior of this hatchback has also been customized. The dashboard's top portion and door pads have been given beige color inserts. Meanwhile, the lower portion of the cabin, including the dashboard and pillars, has been painted in green color to match the exterior. Additionally, it has been given custom-made green leather upholstery on seats with diamond quilting.
Does it make sense to modify such cars?
When it comes to the cost of such modifications, it can easily cross the price of the actual car in some cases. However, there are still a lot of people who opt for such modifications or restorations because of the sentimental value that their cars have for them. They spend this amount to make sure that their cars can drive in perfect condition for a longer duration, as they get very attached to them.
It has to be noted that most people who opt for such restorations restore their cars to factory specifications, so they do not need any RTO approval. However, if the owner wants to get its color changed, they have to submit an application for color change on the registration certificate to the RTO department.
