In the last one week, we have seen a video go viral on the internet where a vlogger is seen testing the anti-pinch feature in the electric tailgate of the Tata Sierra using a banana. The video showed that the banana was squeezed by the tailgate before it could detect it. After the Sierra video went viral, we also saw a Maruti Nexa dealer do the same stunt using a banana and mock Tata. We now have the same dealer with another video where he puts his finger in front of the closing electric tailgate of the Victoris to show the anti-pinch feature.

The video has been shared by Avanish Auto Maruti Suzuki on their Instagram page. In this video, the dealer explains the stunt and mentions that he is going to do the anti-pinch test using his fingers.

His colleague opens the electric tailgate of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. After the door opens, he puts his pinky finger under the door. His colleague then presses the button and we see the electric tailgate slowly coming down. The dealer does not move his hand away and waits patiently for the tailgate to close.

The door was about to close and it almost felt like he was going to injure himself. However, that didn’t happen. The electric tailgate stopped and retracted the moment it touched the finger. The door didn’t pinch or squeeze the finger at all.

He pulled his finger out once the door retracted. He then shows his finger, and it is evident that he did this stunt to show his confidence in the feature that Maruti is offering. The video went viral, and we all know that the dealer was indirectly mocking rivals by doing this.

While this may look like a very cool video where he is showing off a feature on the car, it is actually dangerous. In our previous story, we had mentioned that performing such stunts is risky. One can always use an object to test whether the feature is working or not. However, doing the same using a body part is dangerous.

This feature works using sensors and motors. If any one of them stops working properly, there is a high chance that the feature might fail. If you have your finger or arm in front of the tailgate in such a situation, it is not going to end very well.

The motor actually pulls the tailgate and locks it in place to ensure that it doesn’t open while the car is in motion. It has enough power to cause serious damage to your arm or even break the bones in your finger.

We understand that the dealer was simply trying to demonstrate one of the very useful features that many modern cars now offer. However, this was not the right way to showcase it. The video does not send the right message, as there is a possibility that someone might try to recreate it and end up with an injury.
