Megha Kaur, an Indian actress and singer, is quite popular on Instagram with over 9.49 lakh followers. She frequently posts photos, reels, and stories showing glimpses of her off-screen life. One of her latest reels, however, has placed this actress at the centre of major criticism. In it we see her step out of a moving Mercedes C-class and walk alongside it, while a person seated in the front passenger seat filmed the stunt. It was undeniably dangerous and could have put multiple lives at risk. Netizens called out the same, as the video went viral.

The Video

This stunt was reportedly performed on the Andheri Lokhandwala back road in Mumbai. As the video opens, we see the Mercedes sedan moving at a very slow pace. There’s no throttle input, and it is ‘crawling’. The speed in such cases is usually around 10 kph. The actress is initially seated in the driver’s seat.

Soon, she opens the door and steps out of the moving car. The steering is kept straight and the vehicle’s pace remains steady. The Megha starts walking with it, likely grooving to some music playing inside the car or according to the cues given by the person who filmed the act. After some time, she jumps back into the driving seat and takes control of the car, again.

Towards the end of the video, we understand that the title track of Ranveer Singh’s latest release, ‘Dhurandhar’ was playing inside the car. Interestingly, the driver’s seatbelt was engaged here. The actress, however, wasn’t using it! She sat right on top of it- classic way to fool the car’s internal systems and sensors.

This reel gathered over 25,000 views in just five hours. Many took to other platforms calling out the unsafe and irresponsible behaviour from the actress. On platforms like X (previously Twitter), people mentioned the official handles of Mumbai police and other enforcement agencies and called for immediate action.

The outrage soon made the actress come up with an explanation. She posted a couple of Instagram stories asking people to ‘not imitate’ or ‘copy’ the reel, as it can be dangerous. Explaining further, she wrote “I’m an actress and a content creator. I shoot videos for my content, and I shot this video where there was no public around. My intention was never to break traffic rules and regulations.”

‘Just Don’t Mention The Registration Number!’

Most X posts criticising the reel include the registration number of the car allegedly used in the stunt- MH02 GP 3777. This belongs to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (C200), which she had purchased earlier this year. Looks like the actress is not happy with the number being mentioned in these posts.

In her explanation story, she says that the numberplates aren’t visible in the controversial video, and still it is being called out on public platforms. ‘How do you know I was driving a car of that registration number?’ She further requested netizens to ‘not defame her’ by mentioning the registration number.

In a way, she is trying to safeguard the car from getting officially entangled in any legal action that may follow this reel. The interesting part is, the actress has shared several pictures of her new C-class on her Instagram, since the day or purchase. Some of them showed the number plates too (which now seem ‘unavailable’).

One of the X posts even has a screenshot of one such picture. More importantly, she has shared a lot of pictures and reels showing her inside the car. The interior design, trims and infotainment system have become familiar to her followers. The controversial video shows exactly the same. It wouldn’t be difficult to conclude that it is her own C-Class, that’s been used in filming it.

Yes, one can argue that ‘what if it was another C Class with the same spec?’. Possible. But why would anyone let a person do such a dangerous stunt on their Rs 60 lakh Mercedes, when the person herself owns one!
