Which SUV Is This Based On and Its Cost?

As mentioned above, this particular Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen replica limousine is based on a 2012 Mahindra Scorpio. It was designed back in 2012 when the owner of this particular Scorpio sent it to get converted into a limousine. The total cost came to around Rs 40 lakh. As for the price of conversion into a G-Wagen, it was Rs 3.5 lakh.

This particular vehicle has been designed for people to hire for weddings and birthday parties. The host mentioned that this limousine can be hired across the country. In the video, he does not mention the rental price of this particular limousine.

Is It Legal?

In India, modifying any vehicle is illegal, even if it is just cosmetic. Over the years, RTO departments from across the country have seized many such limousines, as cutting a vehicle in half and extending it is illegal. Also, these vehicles are generally not safe. They do not have the structural integrity of the original chassis, which gets chopped up and rewelded, making it less rigid.
