Drifting is a very cool motorsport that requires sliding a car on a turn or in an open area, with or without obstacles. Many people take up this sport as a fun activity. However, it is only fun when done in a private place like a racetrack or a drift pad. Unfortunately, there are people who try to drift on public roads, which is not at all safe. Recently, one such Mercedes-Benz drift car driver was seen doing donuts on a public road. As a result of this, he was fined a whopping Rs 54,500.

Mercedes-Benz Doing Donuts on the Road

This video showing a Mercedes-Benz drifting on a public road has been shared on YouTube by NDTV. In this short video, we can see that a fully wrapped and modified older-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class was performing donuts at an empty intersection. There were three cars parked on the left side of the road.

Meanwhile, there was a white Mercedes-Benz ML-Class in the left lane. We can see that this SUV driver stopped his car during the donut show of this modified Mercedes-Benz C-Class. As for the drifting of this particular sedan, it can be noted that the driver first started performing anticlockwise donuts. He then flicked the steering wheel and started doing clockwise donuts.

Thankfully, he did not crash into the cars that were parked on the side of the road. Also, the driver was skilled enough not to crash into the dividers on the road. As for the location where this Mercedes-Benz C-Class owner was performing drifts, it took place in Noida.

Now, even though the Mercedes-Benz C-Class driver performed these flawless donuts, the fact that he did this dangerous stunt on public roads cannot be ignored. Reportedly, when the video went viral on the internet, this particular Mercedes-Benz driver was handed a fine of Rs 54,500.

Not Everyone Can Drift

As easy as it seems to drift a car, it must be noted that it is a very tough sport to take on. It requires years of practice to master. Unfortunately, there are many youngsters who think that drifting a vehicle is a piece of cake and can be done without any proper knowledge. Over the years, there have been numerous incidents where people have crashed while trying to perform drifts.

A little while ago, a video of a Hyundai Verna went viral on the internet. In a short video, a previous-generation Hyundai Verna sedan was seen being driven on a straight road. Soon after, the video showed that this car was abruptly turned to the right side, and as a result, it crashed into a divider and drove over a short boundary wall of a park.

It was then mentioned by the driver of the car in his Instagram post sharing this video that he did not lose control of the vehicle while driving straight. Rather, he stated that he was trying to drift the car. Unfortunately, his speed was a little too high, and he could not perform the drift. As a result, his car crashed into the divider.

Only Drift in Private Spaces

As mentioned above, drifting is a very fun motorsport. However, it is only fun when there is no risk to pedestrians or other vehicles. For this reason, drifting should always be performed on private racetracks or drift pads. If you are someone who wants to learn drifting, then you have to enroll in motorsport institutions that are certified in drifting and racing. Only then can you become a professional drifter.
