Mercedes G-Wagen Hits Toyota Innova Crysta At High Speed: Here’s The Result [Video]

Accidents on the road are common. In India hundreds of crashes happen on a daily basis. Usually when a luxury car gets involved in such accidents, it makes it to the news due to the notion that it is the fault of the expensive car driver. Here we have one such video from Chandigarh where an almost new Mercedes G-wagen and a Toyota Innova Crysta got involved in an accident.

The videos has been shared by Prateek Singh on his Instagram page. The video was shared to him by one of his followers online. In this video we see a Mercedes G-wagen with a damaged front end. The bumper, headlights, bonnet, windshield are all damaged. The airbags have deployed in the car and it looks like a he’d on collision.

Coming to the side profile, we see that the left front allot wheels have also been damaged in the crash along with fenders and rear wheel arch cladding. It is very evident from the look of the car that it was a high speed accident.

The camera then moves towards the other car involved in the crashed. It shows a Toyota Innova Crysta that is lying on the median of the road. When compared to the G-wagen, the Innova Crysta looks bad. The MPV’s front-end is completely damaged.

The front grille, headlamps are missing. The MPV also has a damaged bonnet, missing bumper, damaged A pillar, broken windshield, damaged driver side door and so on.

Not much details were available about the crash in the video so we checked the comment section to find more information. One of the comments said that the accident happened on airport road in Chandigarh. Another user mentioned that the bothe Toyota Innova Crysta and G-wagen were being driven at High speed and the Innova Crysta driver turned the. Car suddenly.

This is what led to the crash. The comment mention that a Toyota Fortuner was also present at the spot and they fled soon after the crash.

The comment continues to say that many parts of this road are still under construction and due to this there are diversions. People often drive recklessly on this stretch as there are not many vehicles. However there are blind turns and that along with diversions on the road often lead to accidents.

We really hope that the occupants in both G-wagen and the Innova Crysta have escaped the crash without any major injuries. Both G-wagen and Crysta have serious damages and if they don’t have insurance, repairing these cars is going to be an expensive affair. The SUV seen here in the video is not the G63 AMG. We ran the registration online and found that it is G 400d SUV. Mercedes launched this SUV in the market recently.

The G 400d is actually a replacement for the G 350d that was previously available in the market. It is powered by a 3.0-litre OM656, in-line six-cylinder diesel engine. This engine generates 330 PS and 700 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The G 400d SUV is available in two variants. There is an Adventure Edition with body elements giving the SUV a rugged look and an AMG Line variant. The SUV seen here looks like the AMG Line variant. Price for a brand new G 400d starts at around Rs 2.55 crore, ex-showroom.
