Famous Singer Goes To Buy Mercedes-Benz E Class: Sings For Showroom Staff After They Request

It is common for successful musicians and singers to add expensive cars to their respective garages. On social media, we often come across videos of singers taking delivery of luxury cars and SUVs. MG Sreekumar is a successful playback singer and composer who works primarily in the Malayalam industry. He recently took delivery of a brand-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan and chose to celebrate it in a unique way. After receiving the car, he sang one of his most popular songs together with one of the dealership staff. A video of the same was later shared online.
MG Sreekumar took delivery of his new E-Class from Bridgeway Motors, a dealer in Kerala. He came with his wife to receive the car. He is extremely popular in Kerala and has sung many hit songs. A staff member then expressed her wish to sing along with the singer. MG Sreekumar kindly obliged and sang a duet with her. The video shows the two singing the ‘Pon Veene’ song from the 1986 movie ‘Thalavattom’. In the movie, MG Sreekumar had sung it with KS Chitra.
The dealer executive sang beautifully and confidently. The singer encouraged her and even corrected her at some point in time. Other customers and dealer staff can be seen listening and applauding. The video has been racking up views online, and has crossed over 473K plays at the time of writing this article. A Maybach can be seen in it. The singer, however, bought a White E Class.
A picture shared later on his wife’s Facebook page shows the sedan. The couple can be seen standing on either side of it, and it was captured from Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala’s capital city. A floral garland is seen on the grille and flowers on its hood. In India, it is common for owners to take their newly bought vehicles to temples to seek blessings.
Mercedes-Benz launched the new E-Class in India in October 2024. It is the sixth generation of the E Class (V214). The sedan has always had great acceptance in the country, and the newest model is no different. The new model has a starting ex-showroom price of ₹78.5 lakh. It is offered in three variants- E200, E220d, and E450. The latest generation continues to be a Long Wheelbase (LWB) model, and is slightly more expensive than its predecessor. It is longer and wider as well.
The new E Class has a bunch of interesting design updates. It comes with a new front fascia with EQ-inspired styling, oversized Mercedes logo, stylish Gloss Black trims, flush-type door handles, 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, new bumpers, and more.
Inside, the rear seat is more spacious and comfortable on the new model. These seats can be reclined up to 36 degrees and feature extendable thigh support, comfort neck pillows and more. Rear occupants also get sun blinds on the quarter glass and electrically operated blinds.
The sedan also comes with the Mercedes Superscreen setup consisting of three screens- a 14.4-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch passenger screen and a 12.3-inch instrument panel. Other features are level 2 ADAS and a Burmester 4D surround sound system.
Three engine options are offered on the new E-Class. The E200 gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol, while the E220d has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel, and a mighty 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol comes on the E450. It is just the E450 that gets the 4Matic AWD system.
MG Sreekumar has been a Mercedes fan and has owned several models in the past. We have seen him own an older-generation E-Class and several other models. In addition to this, he also has a Toyota Innova Hycross as well.
