MG Windsor EV: Ownership Review After Covering 2,000 Kms [Video]
The MG Windsor EV is currently the hottest electric car in India. It has managed to beat the longtime champion, the Tata Nexon EV, in terms of sales. Presently, a number of MG Windsor EVs have been delivered, and owners have started sharing their experiences with it. Recently, a video review of the MG Windsor EV after driving 2,000 km by an owner has been shared online. The owner gives his candid thoughts on the Windsor EV.

In this video, the vlogger introduces the owner of this particular MG Windsor EV, after which he starts asking him all of the important questions regarding this electric vehicle.
MG Windsor EV review by owner
Following the introduction, the first question the host asks the owner is why he bought the MG Windsor EV and what vehicle he drove before. To this, the owner replies that prior to this vehicle, he had a diesel Volkswagen Polo, which he owned for 12 years. He shared that he had a pleasant experience with that car.
However, he wanted to upgrade, and as his primary driving is in the city, he wanted to buy an electric car. The owner explained that the running cost of an electric vehicle in the city is very low, and the newly launched Windsor EV comes with one year of free charging. So, this made him buy the MG Windsor EV.
Why not Tata Curvv EV or Nexon EV?
While asking about the decision to buy the Windsor EV, the host asked the owner why he did not buy the Tata Curvv EV or Nexon EV. The owner then explained that MG is offering a lifetime warranty on the Windsor EV’s battery pack, which helped him in finalizing the MG Windsor EV.
He also added that the real-life range of the Windsor EV is much better than Tata EVs. He highlighted that, if driven carefully, the Windsor EV offers a 300+ km range, which is very close to its advertised range of 331 km.
Another major reason the owner mentioned was the rear legroom. He stated that both the Curvv EV and Nexon EV are very cramped in the rear, whereas the Windsor EV offers a much larger legroom in the rear. He also added that the overall space in the MG Windsor EV is much greater.
Which variant did he buy, and what about BaaS?
Following this, the vlogger then asks the owner about the variant he has chosen. To this, he explains that he bought the mid-spec Exclusive variant. The owner mentions that, according to him, this is the most value-for-money variant.
He added that it has almost all of the features of the top-spec variant except for the infinity glass roof and a few others. Following this, the vlogger asks him if he opted for the BaaS program or not and, if yes, what it is.
To this, the owner explains that, according to him, BaaS is more of a marketing strategy than an actual useful program. In simple words, he explained that if someone is buying the vehicle on loan, they’ll have to pay for the car to one company and then pay an EMI for the battery to MG.
He added that he did not want to deal with the hassle of paying two different companies, so he bought the vehicle and battery together with a single loan. The owner added that, in the long term, it does not make much difference as the amount of both the car and battery with BaaS equals the single loan payment.
Driving experience
Following this, the vlogger then asks about the driving experience and if he is facing any range anxiety on longer trips. To this, the owner explained that the vehicle is very capable and, if driven carefully, offers a decent range.
He added that he has taken it on two road trips and the only thing they have to do is plan their trips ahead and mark the chargers they need to use. Apart from this, they have not dealt with any range anxiety, and the performance of the vehicle has been as expected.
