The MG Windsor EV is currently one of the hottest new electric vehicles in India. This CUV has managed to make MG the only automaker in India that sells more EVs than ICE cars. Recently, a video has been shared online in which an existing Tata Tiago EV owner sold it to upgrade to an MG Windsor EV. What's more interesting about this particular MG Windsor EV owner's review is that he has already driven it more than 22,000 km in just four months of ownership.

This video, giving detailed insights into MG Windsor EV ownership, has been shared on YouTube by DDS on their channel. It starts with the host introducing the owner of this particular MG Windsor EV. He mentions that this is the second time he is being featured on his channel. Last time he was in a video, he used to own a Tata Tiago EV.

Why was the Tiago EV replaced by the MG Windsor EV?

Following the introduction, the host immediately asks the owner about his decision to sell the Tiago EV and his other ICE car, which was a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, to buy this EV from MG. To this, he replied that when he bought and used the Tiago EV for a while, it gave him confidence that he could now own an EV and that it suited his lifestyle and driving style while also being affordable.

Another major reason was that he had only used his Maruti Suzuki Ciaz for just one road trip in five months. So, in order to avoid paying maintenance costs for two vehicles, the owner made the decision to sell both cars and choose the Windsor EV as his sole vehicle. Following this, he highlighted that since he bought this vehicle in November, he has driven it over 22,444 km, which is very impressive.

He highlighted that he has done a number of road trips, including Ambala to Dalhousie and Manali, and the range that he got was phenomenal and as advertised by the company. He stated that the MG Windsor EV provided him with a real-world driving range of 300 km. The company advertises that it has a range of 330 km.

The owner also stated that the Tiago EV, on the other hand, only offered a real-world driving range of 200-230 km on a single charge, while its advertised range is 315 km on a single full charge. Apart from this, the owner also stated that the charging infrastructure for EVs is improving. So, during his road trips, he did not find any issues while charging the vehicle.

Other insights on the MG Windsor EV

Following this, the vlogger asked him why he chose the base Excite variant of the Windsor EV. To this, he mentioned that the larger screen in the cabin felt a bit distracting to him. Also, he did not want the panoramic glass roof in his car, as it hampers the cooling speed of the cabin. He added that the cooling speed of this variant is also slow compared to other cars.

Moving on, talking about a few negatives, he highlighted that the company has changed its conditions for free charging, which it was offering for the first 10,000 buyers who bought it last year during the launch. He stated that the company has now limited the fast charging for early owners to 1,000 units, which is around 25-30 free full fast charges.
