MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon EV were some of the first electric SUVs offered in the Indian market. These SUVs were initially the only affordable EVs available to customers in India. In the past, we have come across several videos of people sharing their experiences with these EVs. Here, we have a video of an MG ZS EV owner who is seen sharing his experience with the EV after completing 1 lakh kms.

The video has been shared by Dekho Ye Bhi on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks to the owner of an MG ZS EV SUV about his experience with the car, the things he liked and also the not-so-great aspects of the car.

He starts by saying that he bought the car 2 years ago and has driven it for over 1 lakh kms since then. The ZS EV is his daily driver, and he drives around 120 kms every day as part of his job. He is extremely happy with the car.

When he was in the market looking for an EV, his only options were the Nexon EV and the ZS EV. His father preferred the ZS EV as it was slightly bigger and offered better boot space than the Nexon EV, along with a bigger battery pack.

The customer mentions that he had spent around ₹28 lakh when he bought the SUV, and the government was also not offering any discount or subsidy back then. He has taken the car on several expeditions to hill stations and mountains and has not faced any difficulty with the car to date.

He also mentions that his driving style has changed over the years, and now he can easily squeeze out a 400+ km range from the car on every drive. He is also worry-free and does not face range anxiety. He has not faced any major issues with the vehicle, but he does feel the charging infrastructure should be improved.

He charges the car at home and it costs him around Rs 350-400 per charge and if he were to use a DC fast charger the same cost would go up to Rs 1,500 (depending up on the charging station).

The owner feels that after driving the car for 1 lakh kms, the battery health has started deteriorating, as the maximum range displayed when the batteries are fully charged has started to come down.

The owner spoke about the interior quality of the vehicle and mentioned that the only thing he isn’t happy with is the touchscreen infotainment system, which is a bit laggy at times, and the camera quality is also pretty bad, especially when you consider the fact that the car cost him around ₹28 lakh.

The service cost of the car is also something the owner finds on the higher side. He has to spend anywhere between ₹7,000 to ₹10,000 on every service at the ASC.

He is happy with the product, as he has not faced any mechanical issues, and if he were given a choice today, he would still go for an EV, mainly because of its eco-friendly nature and the savings it offers.
