A number of people in India think that just because they own a vehicle, they can drive anywhere they like. The reality is that such people eventually get caught and have to pay the price. Recently, a video went viral on the internet in which a heavily modified Jeep with massive tyres and “Badshah” written on it was caught by the police for driving in a no-entry zone. The owner of this Jeep was arrested, and his vehicle was seized and dismantled by the authorities.

This video, showing the modified Jeep being seized by the authorities, has been shared on Instagram by Kabirdham Police on their page. In this short video, we can see that an old but extremely modified Mahindra Jeep with registration number “CG 10 F 5146” was being driven in a no-entry zone. We can also see that there were five men inside this vehicle.

There was also a massive Indian flag at the front, which means that the original video was shot around Independence Day. All of these men were singing and dancing. Following this, the clip shows the owner of this particular modified Jeep standing in front of the Kawardha, Chhattisgarh, police station next to his seized Jeep.

From the video, we can note that this particular Jeep was heavily modified. It had massive mud-terrain tyres, aftermarket alloy wheels, auxiliary lights, a metal front bumper, and “Badshah” written on an additional plate at the front and on top of the bonnet. There were also other modifications like an aftermarket exhaust, and it was missing the roof as well.

We can see in the video that after showing the owner standing next to it, the Jeep was parked in the police station’s parking lot. A mechanic was called to the spot, and he was seen removing the massive alloy wheels of this SUV. It can be seen that the vehicle was kept at the same spot with its wheels placed underneath the car. As per reports, the owner and another man, along with the SUV, were presented in court.

Although in this particular case the owner was arrested for entering and driving in a no-entry zone, his vehicle being modified also caught the attention of police authorities. In the last few weeks, there has been an increased crackdown on modified vehicles across India, more specifically in Chandigarh and Jammu in the North.

Recently, in Jammu, the administration has completely banned the sale and purchase of automotive accessories. As per the new law in Jammu, it is illegal to sell, buy, store, or even display motor vehicle accessories. This new order has been issued by Jammu District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya.

The District Magistrate, in his order, highlighted that under Section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, any alterations made to a vehicle that differ from the manufacturer-supplied ones are illegal. All accessories and modifications like oversized tyres, pressure horns, metal bumpers, high-intensity LED lights, and window films are now banned by the authorities.

Similarly, in Chandigarh, the police authorities have started fining cars with aftermarket alloy wheels, tyres, and other mods.
