MS Dhoni Buys New Range Rover [Video]
MS Dhoni is known for his passion for cars and motorcycles. The cricketer owns an impressive collection of cars and bikes, which he keeps in his farmhouse in Ranchi. The latest addition seems to be a Range Rover. A video that surfaced recently, shows what looks like a Range Rover on a flatbed, near Dhoni's farmhouse.

The video shows a neatly covered SUV on a flatbed, waiting at the gate of Dhoni's farmhouse. It, however, claims the SUV to be a Defender. When we get to see it from the side, the silhouette confirms otherwise. It looks like a Range Rover. Judging the exact spec seems difficult as very little about the dimensions and design can be understood from the video.
The reel, however, shows the wheels of the SUV- we can confirm it to be the Diamond Turned with Gloss Black contrast (Style 7023) wheels which we get to see on the Range Rover Autobiography. A few seconds into the video, we also get to see the rear silhouette under the veil. It looks like that of a Range Rover, and little like what you see on the Defender. It doesn't look as steep or boxy as a Defender 110.
It isn't too bizarre for someone to assume that Dhoni has bought a brand new Defender, just by seeing the 'Land Rover' logo on the wheel.
For someone ignorant, Land Rover could mean the Defender, as it is currently one of the most sought-after Land Rover models in India. Despite its hefty (starting) price of 1.3 Cr (ex-showroom), we get to see a lot of them around us. The Defender 110 has found a place in many celebrity garages as well.
Thus, one cannot blame the camera guy here for conveniently assuming 'an uncertain Land Rover' to be a Defender. We can't expect everyone to be familiar with the Range Rover personalisation options or wheel styles.
Recently, Dhoni was spotted arriving at the airport in a Defender 110 finished in Pangea Green Metallic. Many speculated it to be his new buy. However, we haven't had confirmation on this yet.

Netizens reacted to the video almost instantly. They flooded the comment box with words, sentences and paragraphs correcting the owner of the post. Some even went to the extent of saying that it is a Range Rover SV under the cover. We feel this claim to be far from reality, considering the wheel design.
The legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently purchased a Range Rover SV in the Sedona Red shade. With a price of around 5 Crores, it has become the most expensive car in his garage.

The Range Rover Autobiography LWB is available with just petrol hybrid powertrains. It can be had as mild hybrids or plug-in hybrids. Out of these, it is just the mild hybrid (P400) variant that's made in India.
It boasts a 3.0L Ingenium turbocharged petrol engine that produces 394 hp and 550 Nm and an automatic transmission. This SUV is capable of doing the 0-100 kph sprint in just 5.7 seconds- impressive considering the fact that it weighs over two tons. The top-speed is 242 kph. The made-in-India Range Rover Autobiography costs around 3.5 Crores.
