Putting an end to anticipations of everyone wondering why the JIO bossman isn’t getting one, Mukesh Ambani has finally bought a Rolls Royce Spectre EV. The Asia’s richest man has been an ardent admirer of Rolls Royce cars and SUVs and has dozens of them in his garage. The latest addition is the Spectre EV in what looks like English White colourway.

The car was recently spotted on public roads in Mumbai, and someone clicked a picture of it. This appears to be the first and only picture available, of the vehicle, and it shows just the rear. Thus, details of the exact spec remain unknown. The car even gets a VIP number plate (which is blurred in the picture that’s surfaced online) that starts with MH and ends in 0001.

Internet Reacts To Mukesh Ambani’s Rolls Royce EV

People are flooding the comments section with interesting remarks. The Instagran page Automobili Ardent shared the Spectre’s picture with the caption ‘Mota bhai has joined the electric Rolls-Royce bandwagon’. One user commented ‘I’m wondering what would have been the sales pitch??’ to which another replied ‘”we have a new car sir”, “okay send 10″‘. While this might sound funny, it could weirdly be the case as well- such is the power and financial backing of the Ambanis today.

Many fans also look unhappy about Ambani taking the EV route- and some openly said the same in comments ‘ baat ko samjho hum EVs ko aise support nahi kar sakte’ (roughly translating to ‘We cannot support EVs like this’ ) Looks like this guy is a bit too much into the V12s!

Another comment reads ‘An Electric Rolls Royce makes perfect sense. Quiet, smooth with classic RR interior would give the perfect driving experience.’ This perspective sounds absolutely logical. Rolls Royce cars have always been celebrated for being silent, composed, comfortable, refined and serene inside.

With the electric powertrain replacing the massive V12 engines, this sense of calm inside will only go upwards! The refinement and serenity offered by the Spectre are truly quintessential. This is probably one of the reasons that drag people towards it.

Ambani Has A Thing For Numbers!

Mukesh Ambani seems to have a thing for numbers. All his Rolls Royce cars and SUVs that we have seen wear VIP numbers that end in 001. The Cullinan that he bought in 2022 with a paint job worth 1 Cr, has the number MH 1 EB 1. His second Cullinan wears a plate that reads MH 1 DG 1. The recently acquired Cullinan Series 2, which also happens to be his 10th, wears a plate ‘MH 1 EV 1’. This by the way, also happens to be India’s first Series II Cullinan.

Rolls Royce Spectre: Technical Specifications

Rolls Royce launched the Spectre in the Indian market in January 2024. With an ex-showroom price of 7.5 Cr before options, it is the most expensive electric vehicle on sale here. It is considered as the spiritual successor to the Phantom Coupe, and is underpinned by the manufacturer’s all-aluminium spaceframe architecture called Architecture of Luxury. Interestingly, this is the same platform that underpins the current Phantom, Cullinan and Ghost as well. In other words, it is not an EV-only architecture.

The Spectre EV comes with a 102kWh battery pack that claims to deliver 530 km in range (WLTP cycle). Over a 195kW, it can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 34 minutes. A slower 50 kW DC charger will take 95 minutes for the same. The vehicle gets a dual-motor setip- one on each axle, that produces a combined output of 585hp and 900Nm. It weighs 2,890kg and does the 0-100 kph sprint in just 4.5 seconds.

Rolls Royce Spectre also comes with a suspension setup that is 30% stiffer than its stablemates, active suspension and four-wheel steering.
