India's Youngest Volkswagen Golf GTI Owner Takes Delivery Of Mumbai's First Car [Video]
The German automotive giant Volkswagen recently commenced the deliveries of the Golf GTI performance hatchback. These deliveries have commenced in major cities, and a total of 25 Golf GTIs were delivered to their owners in Kerala. Now, the country's youngest Volkswagen Golf GTI owner has taken delivery of the very first unit to be delivered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The video showing the delivery of Mumbai's first Volkswagen Golf GTI has been shared on Instagram by jk991.2 on their page. In this short video, the young owner can be seen taking off the cover from his brand-new Golf GTI, finished in the classy shade of Moonstone Grey. The owner was accompanied by his friends, and we can note that the vehicle was decorated with a garland.

This particular Volkswagen Golf GTI has been bought by Aayan Jashnani. He is a young competitive sailor from the United States who participated in the Open Skiff World Championships held in Arco, Italy. Last year, he competed in the under-15 category, representing Team USA.
For those who may not be aware of the Skiff competition, it is a sailing competition in which multi-race events take place. Participants in these races compete in small, lightweight boats known as skiffs. These boats are known for their speed, agility, and performance. These races are exciting and technically challenging.
Volkswagen Golf GTI
Coming to the Volkswagen Golf GTI, the German automaker recently launched this hot hatch in India with a price tag of Rs 52.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This vehicle comes available in four colors, namely Kings Red Premium Metallic Black, Moonstone Grey Black, Grenadilla Black Metallic, and Oryx White Premium Mother of Pearl Black.
Only 150 units of this hatchback are being brought to India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, making it a very rare sight on the roads. A number of popular Malyalam actors, including Jaysurya, Fahadh Faasil, Joju George, and Mammootty, have reportedly added this hatchback to their garage. Additionally, Vivek Jayamaran, nephew of V.K. Sasikala, who was a close aide and confidante of J. Jayalalithaa, has also bought the Golf GTI.
On the outside, this hatchback comes equipped with a set of sleek LED headlights with LED DRLs, which are connected. Also, the front Volkswagen logo is illuminated, which gives it a very premium and modern appearance. It also gets five-spoke directional alloy wheels, which measure 18 inches. At the rear, it gets sharp LED taillights.
Moving on to the inside, Volkswagen is offering the Golf GTI with beautiful Tartan upholstery and red contrast stitching, with ‘GTI’ badging on many spots inside. Other notable highlights of this hot hatch include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, Head-Up Display (HUD), wireless charger, three-zone climate control, sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting, and ventilated seats.
Powering the Volkswagen Golf GTI is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It is capable of producing 265 PS and 370 Nm in its stock form. As for the transmission, it gets a 7-speed DSG. The hatchback can do the 0–100 kph run in just 5.9 seconds, has a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout, and its top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
